More and more countries are responding to ISIS, France, japan now Jordan. ISIS isnt only our enemy. Im hoping the world gets sick of these terrorists and bans to finally do something about them.
Jordan hanged two Iraqi jihadists on Wednesday including a female militant in response to an Islamic State video appearing to show a captured Jordanian pilot being burnt alive by the hardline group.
Islamic State had demanded the release of the woman, Sajida al-Rishawi, in exchange for a Japanese hostage who was later killed. Sentenced to death in 2005 for her a role in a suicide bomb attack in Amman, Rishawi was executed at dawn, a security source and state television said.
Jordan, which is part of the U.S.-led alliance against Islamic State, has promised an "earth-shaking response" to the killing of its pilot, Muath al-Kasaesbeh, who was captured in December when his F-16 crashed over northeastern Syria.

If there isn't a declaration of war or letters of marque and reprisal then we should mind our own business.

I disagree, its time for these dirtbags to get some of their heads cut off and burned to death. Using your ideals, the world should just let them keep on keepin on.

There is a discussion on another thread about American arrogance.
But until Obama and the thinking espoused by the libertarians here America provided the leadership,in situations like this.
The euros or Arabs or eleven some Americans complain about America till they need America.
Then they look to America for leadership.
So I don't think the pathetic collection of Muslim regimes over there are going to be able to clean up the mess without our help.

Intelligent people can discern the difference in military capacity between us now and then, and Nazi Germany and Isis.

Regional powers should be responsible for dealing with this. The US and other allies outside the region could supply some help (supplies, aid) but it really should be countries like Jordan that intervene.

There is no reason any American should fight and die in the Mideast. Or anywhere else!

Agree, this should be handled locally. Jordan did the right thing.

Ok everyone.
I guess the nays have it on this board and maybe around the country.
But don't hold your breath waiting for the Arabs to get their act together and stop Isis.

No, using my ideals we don't go looking for fights unless we're attacked. Under my ideals that thing called the Constitution is followed. Under my ideals we have a republic and not an empire, and we don't police the world.
American isolationists said the same thing in 1940.
They were right then and non-interventionists are right now.

Jordan has certainly been willing to deal harshly with the PLO, for instance. King Hussein in 1981 expelled PLO troops & their political HQ from Jordan. But Jordan doesn't have a robust economy - despite internal pressure to respond to IS, it's not clear how much Jordan can do on its own, without a fair amount of help from Saudi Arabia, US, the West in general.

The right thing to do is to wait until they attack America first. They have never done anything to us so far right? So, its highly doubtful they really want to do us harm.
Its all our fault anyway.

IS burning the pilot was a major affront to the Muslim world. It's a violation of the Koran to burn a body. The pilot was a devout Sunni Muslim from a very prominent Jordanian family. If Jordan handles this well, the decent Muslim world should rise up and stamp out that cancer. I feel the US and the other allies should back them with supplies and aid.

What happened to Hitler when he waged war. The whole of Germany was made to pay with lives including women and children.
We are pussy footing with the Muslims. Nuff said.

I agree with you on that Bob, but we are not dealing with a country here. The parameters of war are different with this enemy.
It may come to a fullblown battle one day, but right now I think many of the leaders are holding back to see how it is handled locally.

Just a wee bit different there Bob , Islam isn't confined to
a single country. Islam must reform itself, if not then someday
in the future ??

I pray you're correct Redrose But what I see and hear and read
about Islam and it's adherents in this country "fullblown battle"
seems more likely than not.

To be perfectly honest I don't think anyone knows how all this will end. Last night the news said IS was setting it's sights on Turkey and that region, "full blown" was a term used in that interview by a political analyst. I sincerely hope we can stay out of it, but a pain in my gut tells me otherwise.

The Islamic State can't defeat Turkey militarily. They have the best military in the region. IS could cause a hell of a problem with irregular warfare. But that won't win a war.

This problem is super serious. I have waited for a true solution. Democrats have no clue what to do. Obama proves that. Republicans get accused of loving war.
While I suspect all Muslim countries contain some extremists, clearly if the country they are in refuses to go after them, we just might end up showing them how to do it. But we need a willing president.
Remember what Bush told them?

We have two choices as i see this.
Choice 1. Get out. Stop messing with the middle east. Let them fight or fornicate but stay out.
Choice 2. Go all in. Stop acting like this is a joke. Troops can end them. I prefer to move in as opposed to bailing out.
We look like a joke to the world.
