I stopped drinking Newcastle from the bottle a long time ago. Got to the point where every bottle I bought was skunked to hell and back, clear bottles + beer = shit. I've had a couple times on draft though.

I never realized it was artificially colored, or brewed by Heineken (which is Europe's "Budmiller") so now I'll never drink it again most likely.

The recipe for Newcastle Brown Ale is to change amid US fears it contains a potentially cancer-causing colouring.

Brewer Heineken said the move was prompted by customer concerns about a chemical found in the caramel colouring used to give its distinctive tint.

None of the beer's ingredients are subject to any restrictions, but Heineken said it was "listening to consumer concerns".

It said roasted malts would now be used to achieve a similar colour.
