View Full Version : Moving to Mexico
Mr. P
02-17-2015, 12:30 PM
Dear Mr. President:
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.
We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over?
Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All Mexican government forms printed in English.
4. English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers to teach Spanish to my grandkids.
5. Classes on American culture and history taught in their schools.
6. The American flag flying on one of the flag poles at their school, to make my grandkids feel welcome.
7. Both breakfast and lunch served at school for my grandkids.
8. A local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U. S. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I'll need Income tax credits, so, although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.

you'd be surprised at how many of those things you DO get when you move to Mexico. The health care is dirt cheap and WAY better than in the US... and, anyone over 60 years of age gets an INAPAM card which gets you half price on all sorts of stuff, from buses and airline tickets to concerts and museum admission. My property tax for a lovely home with a 10 meter swimming pool, an indoor and outdoor kitchen, two bedrooms, indoor fountain, a lovely rooftop party area, a gorgeous garden is less than $40 US per year.

Dirt roads, dirt houses, dirt people.
Been in Mexico a couple times.
First time I walked in on foot and was immediately solicited by a prostitute. Then walking down the street I was harassed by those eye and dental guys, they really try to hard sell that stuff to Americans. Had lunch, got drunk, that part was ok.
Leaving back through customs the panhandlers were all lined up near the entrance.

lol - I came to the conclusion a while ago that you don't know shit about shit, and not even a microcosm of the shit you post links to. Asking you for an opinion or comment is like asking Cigar for one.
So I'm still waiting for someone of repute to confirm or deny my comment.
I don't think the whole country is shit, but I'm fairly sure most of it is.

It depends on if you can afford to buy a place that keeps the general population away. I had friends from Mexico City...they loved it....but their family was very wealthy and they lived in a gated community with armed guards whenever they left home. A different version of 'don't leave home without it'.

Yeah - see, that sounds like South Africa.
When we were moving to Yuma we were trying to figure out what beaches we'd be frequenting. Someone said try Baja in Mexico, but you might get kidnapped, do this and do that as to not attract attention.
Yeah, right.

I actually live in a city of nearly a million people and, in 2014, we had five murders all year... and two were a husband-wife argument/murder/suicide. I live in a totally un-gated downtown centro historico neighborhood and have no problems whatsoever with crime or violence in any way.
There are large parts of Mexico that are every bit as safe, if not safer than the US.

Here is an example of what happened to invaders crossing a river, when patriots had both guns and guts:
BATTLE OF ZENTA (Serbia, September 11, 1697)
European dead: 429
Muzzie bandito dead: 30,000
I guess Lizardtarian isolationists would say, "Because of such a slaughter, we deserved our own September 11."
