View Full Version : Influential Republican Blacks

Mr. P
02-23-2015, 08:58 AM
Listed below are Newsmax’s 100 Most Influential African-American Republicans. A caveat: not everyone on the list may be actually registered Republican. But these are individuals who have a public identity as Republican or ones who lean Republican.

1. Ben Carson — renowned pediatric neurosurgeon; likely 2016 presidential candidate
2. Colin Powell — former secretary of state; U.S. Army general
3. Condoleezza Rice — former secretary of state
4. Clarence Thomas — Supreme Court justice
5. Mia Love — U.S. congresswoman, Utah

Not all blacks are the same. Some think outside of the Democrat box.

One can view this in another way too but it requires one think outside their biased, bigoted mindset. Here it is, 'some blacks are full of sh-it same as whites.' See, now we face the conundrum that judging people by certain aspects of their makeup don't work too good. LOL

You would be correct. Uncle Herman was the ultimate. He was raised to be a privileged white boy. Carson's just another smart doctor with little common sense who got where he is today thanks to government handouts*. Thomas was thrown away by his mother and raised by grandparents, sent only to all white catholic schools, and later attended Yale (source of funds unknown). Apparently his hatred of black women, thanks to his mother's actions, has led him to also attempt as much as possible to be as white as possible.**

Mia Love? What's to say about a woman who joined a racist cult, married a white guy, bleached her skin and straightened her hair?

This is why liberal hate Clarence Thomas, What Clarence Thomas Learned from Malcolm X (http://reason.com/blog/2015/02/23/clarence-thomas-americas-most-influentia)

Writing in The Wall Street Journal this weekend, Fox News pundit Juan Williams praised Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as "the most influential thinker on racial issues in America today." According to Williams, Thomas "is reshaping the law and government policy on race by virtue of the power of his opinions from the bench." As Williams put it:

The principal point Justice Thomas has made in a variety of cases is that black people deserve to be treated as independent, competent, self-sufficient citizens. He rejects the idea that 21st-century government and the courts should continue to view blacks as victims of a history of slavery and racism.

Thomas certainly does reject many of the government solutions now in vogue for dealing with racial problems. But the source of that rejection is frequently misunderstood—especially by Thomas' liberal critics, who seem to think that he disfavors certain forms of affirmative government action because he believes racism to be dead and gone. New York Times columnist Charles Blow, for example, gave voice to that critique last year when he faulted Thomas for "being unable to acknowledge and articulate the basic fact that race was—and remains—a concern."

In point of fact, Thomas clearly believes that racism is a concern just as he clearly believes that the long shadows of slavery and Jim Crow continue to harm black Americans. Where Thomas differs from most liberals is in his pronounced lack of faith in the ability of ostensibly benevolent government officials to do the right thing.

Thomas made this point...
