Now you get bent over by the IRS due to the ACA

http://www.atr.org/surprise-poorest-obamacare-enrollees-face-530-irs-tax-bill

The majority (52 percent) of Obamacare enrollees receiving an advance premium tax credit to purchase Obamacare insurance is facing the prospect of paying back $530 of that tax credit to the IRS, according to a new study from H&R Block (http://newsroom.hrblock.com/hr-block-taxpayers-following-aca-rules-refunds-take-hit/). This clawback is reducing the refunds for these taxpayers by 17 percent this filing season.

Take a negative and turn it into a positive: Think of it as an interest-free loan.

It is a penalty

I disagree; I'd look at it as an interest free loan; they got money up front and pay it back with no interest on it.

Uncle Sam giveth and he taketh away.

If you like your tax credit you can keep your tax credit. Another Obama lie.

I said that this would happen a couple of times.

Also, if you are not getting a refund they have no way of making you pay it.

Bob thinks that "everyone" who benefits from that is a democrat. Bob thinks that there are no redneck conservatives on the federal dole from birth to death too. Bob believes that ALL conservatives give to the Govt and all Democrats take.

Bob you lived a life so have I, we both lived through basically the same things. Why dont you tell the truth. Sucking the govts teat has no party

This is from the H&R Block citation in your article:

"The average tax refund for these taxpayers was almost $3,100 but it was reduced by $530 due to the tax credit reconciliation process."

and

"A majority of year-end Marketplace enrolled clients who reconciled using Form 8962 underestimated their household income and therefore must repay a portion of the APTC."

Anyone who relies on the IRS for a yearly saving account is not terribly bright.

Every Year on April 15th, is the Tax Dead Line.

Your "choice" throughout the previous year determinds a lot.

What's a Refund?

The last thing I ever want to do is keep my Money in The Governments Accounts, when it can be in my Account.

Some people are stupid and should get better Tax Counseling if they are over paying for 12 months out of the year just to get crumbs in return.

Wake Da-Fork Up ... Refund ... ? Do you actually think they're getting something back?

I see you didn't answer about your refund, something I haven't seen in decades.

The other? I have had my own health and life insurance my entire adult life. I take care of business, pal. Both for me and my family. Obamcare has no impact on me other than making sure people like you stop using the ER as your primary physician.

Now, about your refund. A couple thousand? More?

Since this is the Internet nothing you tell me can be verified.

So your denials about being an ObamaCare subsidy bum are expected but not very believable.

So your refund is MORE than a few thousand, huh? No surprises there. Pretty stupid to let the government have your money for a year.

Read the commentary again. They did not pay too much to the IRS. They followed the IRS rules and were nailed for following them.

A good way to lose in an argument is what you just did. Go ad hominem.

Fails every time.

It likely was not lying for most. Circumstances in income likely changed during the year.
