Liberals, Conservatives, and Jobs
Just about everything I write evokes vituperative reactions from the usual suspects, but never so much as when I point out awkward facts. So there was a lot of mud-slinging when I pointed out last summer that California’s economy — which conservatives said was doomed by tax increases and generally liberal policies — was in fact experiencing an impressive recovery.

Why does this sort of thing bother conservatives so much? Well, it’s an essential part of their belief structure that they have a secret sauce that lets them deliver job growth that liberals can’t, as Rand Paul declared (http://ourfuture.org/20140415/rand-pauls-plan-to-brand-gop-as-for-the-poor-and-the-lie-that-ruins-it).
Am I claiming that Democratic presidents were responsible for all this job creation? No, not at all, nor do I need to. The point, instead, is that their policies didn’t prevent a lot of employment growth. That is, what you learn from both national experience and the California story is that you can raise taxes on the rich and expand access to health care without killing the economy.
Republicans, by contrast, need to claim that Reaganomics produced all the job growth of the 80s, just as they used to claim that Bush’s “ownership society” was responsible for any and all good news in the 2000s. That’s why they’re desperately trying to claim that the economic recovery now underway is an illusion.
They can’t handle the truth.

Well lets look at income levels Vs pre recession, Work Force participations rates, Savings Vs debt
Part time vs full time jobs creation. I think that you can make a case that the results might not be a great as they are being claimed?
What do you think

McDonald's Corporate Headquarters is not for from me and know a lot of people who work there, and they all say the same thing; that line about more part-time jobs is bull shit.
Think about it, does your average McDonald's have 3x's more people working at it? No ... the shift sizes has never changed, and they are not supporting the Economy with Part-Time Jobs, it's just GOP Talking Bulls Shit with zero data to back it up. McDonald's staffing at their Franchises have not gone up in Part-Time workers.

Well that would mean we have a liberal and the federal government that are both believing a lie? Does that surprise you?

You are discussing one company. The economy has tens of thousands of such companies.
You trying to use ancedotal evidence is just funny.
Why do Democrats wail and gnash their teeth over how hard it is for families right now?
A very good sign of true 5 percent out of work economy is in such an economy, wages skyrocket. Wages are bid for. Workers are not falling behind.
Democrats tell us only the rich are better off.
When they also lie to your face and tell you 95 percent of us have jobs.
If 95 percent had jobs, you would see companies in rough house bidding wars to get people.
They are not even close to doing that.
See, you can fool some, but this guy has been through this for over 60 years. I recall when companies bid for workers just to get workers.

That is not accurate.
Not all jobs, but look at how many were forced into part time work by the ACA?
As I said, you can tell by wages paid.
When a low number are available to work, it boosts wages. Companies must compete and must pay higher wages.
Obama bleats and so does his party, the rich are the only class doing well.
You can't have lower workers wages and less opportunity if there really is 5 percent out of work.
You have millions of people wanting work, that simply lost all hope.
Obama's men are fully in charge of the way data is manipulated.
My claim is some can't get full time jobs due to the ACA Obama is so in love with. He put the blocks to them having a workweek of over 29 hours.
Not to repeat, but in our other economic cycles, 5 percent out of work meant companies bid up wages to attract workers. This is not happening now.

About 15 years ago my husband participated in a conference that discussed the changing work place. One of the issues under discussion was the rising trend of employers to use part time & contract labor. It was another way to avoid having to provide benefits for employees. They didn't have to worry about people expecting raises because no one would stay very long on the jobs. I guess some people have ESP....after all, the trend to part-time or contract workers is all due the ACA....uh-huh
