Great choice. Congratulations Chris.

I want to be on record as saying right now, Chris has long been one of my favorite posters. We chit chat back and forth and don't fight.

(mkay Chris, that buys me a free get out of ban card. lol)

I'm sorry Chris. I mean that too.

It's like carrying the One Ring. Everybody wants it from the outside, but for the guy carrying it, it totally sucks.

It's a thankless job. Need to tone down replies to some who don't deserve it. Have to deal with some who will target you simply because you're a mod. But I was asked to help, so I'll do what I can.

Adding Chris back on the mod team is a big mistake. Chris is very high maintenance, he way, way over complicates things, micromanages, layers and layers of bureaucracy. His last stint as mod was nothing short of disastrous, he drove the whole team batshit. He's also kind of a bickering troll and has and will continue to target rivals with his moderator authority.

Peter was the best thing that happened to this forum, his steady, non-reactionary approach was the biggest reason for this forum's success. Chris will change those dynamics, or at the very least throw a wrench into them, the forum will become dryer and stale. But maybe that's what the forum wants. I've been spending too much time here anyway.

Don't count all your chickens before they hatch - or whatever.

Chris admits to making mistakes previously. I think all mods can look back and point out mistakes they've made, or they should be able to anyways. It's often enough the only way to learn to behave differently. His strengths for moderating like following protocols is something we could benefit from, in my opinion. I don't believe there will be a repeat and I have faith he'll perform well in the position.

Anyways, let's not turn this thread into something negative. I understand your concerns but let's give Chris a chance before assuming all hell will break loose or something.

Captain Obvious you know you are one of my favorite people (I have a fondness for wise-azzes) but I think you are way out of line on this. People grow & change, we all experience new things that make us rethink our actions or thoughts....that is what this forum is about. You are making a judgment based on yesterday's news....not a good thing in politics or people.

We have been operating short a mod for months so the newest, most inexperienced person has been the only one consistently on duty during the day (moi). The forum suffers because of that. I am very grateful that Chris has agreed to step up and help us out.

I sensed that another mod was needed during the day, but I think it's a mistake adding Chris.

You'll see what I mean in a couple of weeks.

Capt need to let the past go, people do change. I do agree Peter saved the day here, peter had an even handed approach and he stopped the forum bleeding.

Because I find funny being around a bunch of radical conservative and practice English.

I don't know many of you who are able to speak more than 1 language, and give thanks that you are able to speak even English ;)

I owe Chris an apology.

I don't know what goes on in the back room anymore but from what I see on the forum what I suggested didn't happen.

My apologies Chris for jumping the gun. You've done nothing but a fantastic job and proved me wrong and I'm ok with that.

Yeah, he has. I remember back before I joined here and was on Trins forum, her and others used to always complain about Chris from here as mod. Had no idea what to think, didn't know him, but I can see it was Trin being paranoid and/or insane and nothing more. He does a good job, all of the mods do. And that's not me kissing ass, it's a genuine observation, because if I thought anyone was mediocre or bad, I'd say so.

The entire secret to be a good mod here is being a good mod team player. Never act alone, always consult and get consensus from other mods. Too often we hear complaint this mod did this or that mod that--no, we act together.
