"Last month over 300 Republicans, including 23 current and former GOP congressional members, signed a friend-of-the-court brief in support of marriage equality (http://www.towleroad.com/2015/03/over-300-gop-leaders-sign-supreme-court-brief-supporting-marriage-equality.html). "The Obama Administration and 211 congressional Democrats have also filed separate briefs asking (http://www.towleroad.com/2015/03/obama-administration-files-supreme-court-brief-backing-nationwide-marriage-equality.html) the Supreme Court to overturn bans on same-sex marriage."

Thanks to Towleroad for this report. America is now seeing, firsthand, how despicable Conservatives are in trying to deny other citizens of these United States marriage equality, something they themselves have. Fortunately, there are some among their ranks that can actually think much better on this issue.

When opponents of these rights fight this hard it further exemplifies that they have blatant disregard for the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause that certainly extends to LGBT citizens as well. Federal Court after Federal Court, including the Appellate Courts, have ruled that it does.

It is as if Republicans are not cognizant of the fact that LGBT citizens work and pay their taxes; that they go to church like everyone else; that they have or adopt children to add to their family; and that they proudly serve in the U.S. of A.'s military because they love this country and want to fight for the freedom that you and I enjoy having. No, in their penchant to discriminate in such an abhorrent manner they have lost all sense of reason and are trying to fight Gay and Lesbian people tooth and nail with regard to their human and civil rights. That couldn't be a more wrong position to take. The SCOTUS should, however, be able to see right through that effort and pay no attention to the bigotry they are exhibiting that is detrimental to equality for LGBT citizens in these United States.
