Howey, neg rep is a function of using that little star thing at the bottom where the Thanks function is. For the members clicking that (before using the Thanks function) gives that member the opportunity to Approve and add a comment. For the mods, we can both Approve or Disapprove and add a comment. If any of us were neg repping you, you would see your Rep numbers dwindling rapidly.

/Edit - I think it also affects Karma.

Peter, I have seen that too and wondered if that was Neg Repping. I'd do it again. Unlike Howey I don't say one thing and wish I could do another. I have no regrets and I'm rarely wrong. If someone wants to limit my freedoms their reputation should be tarnished by that.

We used to have negative repping but there are too many children on this board and it turned into a popularity contest thing. Some folks even went as far as just repping each other daily to build theirs up so the whole system really isn't attention worthy, it's just a toy basically.

I think maybe something needs to be tweaked. I've repped people from time to time. I repped someone earlier, and noticed that my repping was worth 0 points. Granted, I don't have a lot of rep points, but what's the incentive for me to rep someone, if it gives them nothing?
