Good on Mom

A 15-year-old Illinois native who allegedly beat, robbed, and sexually assaulted a woman was turned in by his very own mother, a court heard Thursday.

Deshawn Isabelle allegedly attacked a woman on the Chicago subway, punching her in the face, dragging her by her hair, and reaching down her pants to penetrate her before stealing her iPhone and $2000 from her purse, ABC 7 reports (http://abc7chicago.com/news/mom-recognizes-son-15-in-cta-blue-line-sex-assault-photos-cpd-says/676692/).
Isabelle, who reportedly (http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Mother-Turns-in-15-Year-Old-Son-After-Seeing-Photos-of-His-CTA-Sexual-Assault-301144881.html) threw the phone in a puddle and spent the cash on candy and Air Jordan jumpsuits, is in custody on a $1 million bond after his mother recognized him in a surveillance video and turned him in to police.
Isabelle and the victim two were alone on the blue line train when the incident occurred in the middle of the day, just around 3 p.m. Monday.
“She sat down and the offender attacked her from behind. He knocked her down to the ground and attacked her,” Det. Jackie Mok, Chicago Police Dept told ABC 7 (http://abc7chicago.com/news/police-search-for-suspect-in-blue-line-sex-assault/675123/).

Definitely good for the mom. I'm sure she still loves him, but he needs to pay for what he did (assuming he did it)

She may be a single mother and cant reign him in and felt this was only way to stop it before he gets worse. Who knows, either way it took courage.

I would hope married parents who felt like they had a good handle on their kids would STILL turn them in if they did something like this.

(by the way - not a big deal, but it's "rein him in", not "reign him in")

Before he gets worse? I'm sure that wasn't his first crime. Strong arm robbery, assault, and sex battery, there isn't too much worse. Maybe mom needed to rein him in a while ago.

But I suppose better late than never. Good for mom.

It's just one of those things that nags at me. Not a biggie...

My mom would have turned me in if it were me. Good on the mom.
