My son works on a nearby base. He said the base went to security alert "Bravo" some time this afternoon. I just checked a news site that's pretty quick on things like that. Nothing so far. Anyone else heard anything of this??

4 dead in plane crash on I-285More>> (http://thepoliticalforums.com/story/29014239/police-plane-crash-shuts-down-i-285)
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The NTSB is investigating a plane crash on Interstate 285 that killed four people Friday morning. The crash shut down the highway in both directions at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The eastbound lanes remain closed, but the westbound lanes have since reopened.

The plane is described as a Piper PA-32, according to the FAA. The FAA also says the plane crashed about a mile from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) after departing from Runway 3Right.

Nothing about an airliner.

All military bases in the US have gone to Force Protection Condition B.

FPCON BRAVO describes a situation with a somewhat predictable terrorist threat. Security measures taken by agency personnel may affect the activities of local law enforcement and the general public. (Must show two military base IDs at gates.) Force Protection Level I Antiterrorism Training defines FPCON Bravo as: FPCON Bravo applies when an increased and more predictable terrorist threat activity exists. Specific information suggests probable violence, but nothing indicates that this installation is targeted. Extra precaution is appropriate to deter terrorist planning. Additional measures may affect operational capability and relations with local authorities. You can expect stricter inspections of vehicles, deliveries, and ID checks. You will see a greater presence of guards on your installation. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force_Protection_Condition)

But that was because of the IS claims about lots of grassroots tangos in the US.

Because that's exactly what Atlanta needs. More traffic.

I can't count the number of times I have driven on that section of I-285. We used to count how many planes went over us in the time it took to get past the airport....I think the record was 12 or 13.

In other news, I am okay. The airliner didn't land on me, it went down on the other "GA," Georgia.

Not that someone isn't going down on me

This airplane was made prior to 1980. We call the Cherokee 6 by the name of Saratoga today.

The wings were redesigned and the old Hershey Bar wing design of the crashed airplane became tapered and the tips carved for best control.

It is no airliner. It carries 6 and can carry a decent load.
