Was thinking about trying my hand at a gumbo recipe. Apparently, it's all about the roux which is a mixture of fat and flour.

LoVE and I were talking about this...

As long as you are in charge of the ingredients it should be good.

;D

No, I bet yours is pretty good. We were talking about how you can get away with putting roadkill in it and no one will be the wiser ;)

Actually I've never made it. You could probably do that with chili too.

True that. Those are two things I'd never order in a restaurant, much less a street vendor.

I make a good chili. Most of the chili I've ordered out has been mediocre. :-\

That's because cat doesn't taste very good ;)

Really I think it all depends on the chili powder. Some good stuff in Texas.

Even at decent Mexican places the chili is so so. I'm sure you are probably used to better Mexican food in CA.

Yeah it's harder to find good American food than it is Mexican :D ::) :-\

Oh heck yes. It's piss.

Dos Equis is alright though, I like all the varieties. Not sure if Negro Modelo is Mexican but that is good stuff too.

I think Dos Equis lager is great. The XX one which I think stands for the 20th century. Very tasty.

Ah yeah I like all of them, it's been a while since I've had one. The XX makes sense, I was wondering what that was about. All the booze on the old school cartoons were three, XXX :D

;D You'd thin that had something to do with the alcohol content but it's the logo. Apparently, it's an old recipe and a good one, IMHO.

Beer makes anything better. ;D

I am going to try Coca Cola with my ribs or roast one of these days, I hear that is good too.

Well you don't have to use the whole bottle :P

It's like a barbecue sauce, you can make it with just a hint of sweetness. Of course like I said I haven't tried it...
