Sen. Bernie Sanders says a challenge to corporate 'oligarchy' is a not only a 'damn good platform' for a presidential candidate, it is exactly what a majority of the American people want to hear.

Liberal advocates say there are many questions about Clinton’s policy stances. She has stayed relatively quiet about domestic issues since retiring from the Senate in 2008.

“I would like to know more about where she stands. The world has changed a lot since her husband was president, and she hasn’t had to deal with domestic issues since she was in the U.S. Senate,” said Roger Hickey, co-director of Campaign for America’s Future. “The questions I would like her to debate and discuss is what do we do with this banking system that is a problem for the real economy.

“Do we continue to deregulate the way her husband did or do we break up the banks and make them less powerful?” he said.

Democratic activists acknowledge that Sanders is unlikely to present a serious threat to Clinton, but they are happy to see him jump in the race because they want a vigorous debate over Wall Street.

No one thought that Obama was a serious threat to Hillary either. I'm glad to see someone willing to challenge her. I still believe that 2016 should be the year of the GOP but they seem to be having problems. They can still snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The election is a long way off. Things will change when each party has selected a candidate.

In the beginning, I simply dismissed Sanders. I still think he has no shot at winning a general election, but it looks like he may very well split the Democrat's base and cause serious harm to Hillary Clinton's campaign. He may make it impossible for her to gain the support of the whacked out far left that is slowly taking control of the Democrat party. She is going to win the nomination though.

She's going to be forced to move to the far left and that is going to be a problem for her in the general election. The more centrist faction of the party and the so called independents aren't going to accept her swing back to the center, or center right after Sanders is out of the picture.

Personally, I don't believe Sanders wants to be POTUS. He just doesn't want Hillary to be POTUS.

GOP is wrong on the important issues..... and try to use wedge issues people are sick of hearing about.

Just listen to those that go to Sanders rallies:

Many in Monday’s crowd were younger, such as a recent high school graduate from the Boston area who drove to Maine with a parent to hear Sanders.

“He really does say what he believes, and just seeing how people respond to that, I wanted to be part of it,” said Benjamin Powell, an 18-year-old from Dedham, Massachusetts.

Yarmouth residents Jonas Allen and Beth Brewer came with their two young boys, 6-year-old Ellis and 10-year-old Levi, to hear a candidate that Allen said is putting the middle class ahead of corporate or financial interests.

“I think that’s why he is taking off because he is the only candidate on the Republican or the Democratic side who is really taking a stand on the issue,” Allen said. “When you have the political machine behind you like the Clintons do, it is going to be a challenge. But I think his populist message is getting out there whether he gets the nomination or not.”

There were plenty of older supporters in the crowd, as well.

Among those who had arrived early enough to get front-row seats in the arena were Dale and Robyn Moreau and Rose and Jack Kennealy, all of Cape Elizabeth.

“This is the first candidate to be excited about since Eugene McCarthy,” said Dale Moreau, referring to the 1968 presidential hopeful.

“He is genuine,” said Robyn Moreau.

“And he is not naive about working in Washington,” added Rose Kennealy.

Walking away from the arena afterward, Falmouth resident Jackie Curley said every single issue that Sanders highlighted on Monday is important to her.

“For the last 20 years, we have needed somebody like him,” Curley said. “We have had many good people, but nobody like this guy.”

Attracting a large crowd is not a difficult thing to accomplish. All one needs to do is put on a rally in an area known to be friendly to your point of view.

If a vegan, gay, communist was running for president and conducted a rally in Seattle, it would need to conducted in Husky stadium and simulcast to Century Link field to standing room only crowds.

You, as usual, show your hand too early. Every poll out there shows Hillary with a sizable lead over any projected GOP primary winner. It's more likely the GOP rather than snatch defeat from victory will once again be simply and by a sizable margin, outspent. Could be the candidate with the most money will win and that will be somehow interpreted as an upset by the far Left?

Amusing, I gotta admit.

No, emergency room visits were free. That's free healthcare than anyone could get.

Wrong again. If they had medical care on a regular basis, many issues that would cause them to go to the emergency room in the first place could be avoided. Instead they have to wait until they are literally dying until they could get treatment. And then its only to stabilize them; then the problems come back because they cannot afford to see a doctor. It overloads the entire healthcare system. With the ACA everyone can get medical insurance, even if they have a pre-existing condition. You know how many lives that has saved?

one of the biggest responsibilities preached in the Bible is to take care of those less fortunate.

"When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs.
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep.
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep."

Take away their Obamaphones and put them in work camps. Make them earn their way out. It worked for Rome. I wish Joe Arpaio was running for President.

Don't worry...his spiritual son, Donald, is doing that for him. Be sure to vote for him!

113 voter fraud in MN....multiple credible sources? I accepted your source on the Franken election and acknowledged it. Now, you exaggerate and bemoan something that didn't happen? You & mac can continue this discussion without anyone else....echo chambers are always fun for some....

Yes, two different credible sources tell you that there were more than 100 vote fraud convictions stemming from one election in one state.

What did I exaggerate? You first asked for proof of any vote fraud concpvictions in the US. I showed you, then you denied it for quite some time.

You lost all the credibility you had with me anyway.
