Texas County Clerk Puts Off Issuing Same-Sex Marriage Licenses Until She Can Retire

"Equality Texas spokesman Daniel Williams told the Observer (http://www.texasobserver.org/second-county-clerk-steps-down-over-gay-marriage-licenses/) he respects the decisions of Irving and Lewis-Kugle:
“I think they should be applauded for doing exactly what we want our government officials to do, which is to put the public before their own interests,” Williams said. “That is a triumph of democracy.”
"In other words, good riddance."

It's TEXAS yet again! Second one down! The Same-Sex Marriage ruling has really begun weeding out those County Clerks who refuse to do their job and in effect helping them to early retirement hasn't it? Couldn't have happened to a better group. But it will hopefully also help to usher in tolerant clerks who will follow the Law of the Land in Federal SCOTUS rulings. Thanks to Towleroad for this report.
