One of the Marine's apparently was armed (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/marine-in-chattanooga-shooting-might-have-been-armed-officials-say/2015/07/20/1787a027-bbc4-429b-a8cc-9730d73b96a4_story.html) with a personal weapon and may have wounded the attacker.

The FBI has recovered a pistol that may have been privately owned and used by one of the Marines killed here Thursday during the shooting at the Navy Operational Support Center, according to law enforcement officials.

Investigators are trying to determine, based on forensics, whether the pistol, a 9mm Glock, was used in an exchange with the shooter, Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, and possibly wounded him, officials said.

The standard-issue pistol for military personnel authorized to carry a sidearm is a variant of the 9mm Beretta 92. According to the Marine unit’s commanding officer, Maj. Mike Abrams, Marines are not authorized to carry personally owned firearms while at the support center.

Maybe they should take another look into the ban on personal weapons at the support center.

Obumer ain't dead yet.

But maybe if congress disarms the secret service agents protecting him he might be.

That would be only fair that a gun grabber not have guns surrounding him everywhere he goes.

If he was he will be like those shop and robs who fight back and are fired. His family will be stripped of any benefits he might be entitled to.

According to Juan Williams American military members cannot be trusted with firearms so he clearly should have just bucked up and taken it like a man.

Update (http://www.navytimes.com/story/military/2015/07/21/sources-navy-officer-marine-shot-chattanooga-gunman/30426817/): it looks like more than one were armed. A Navy officer was packing his personal weapon (in violation of regs- see if that comes up).

A report was distributed among senior Navy leaders during the shooting's aftermath saying Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White, the support center's commanding officer, used his personal firearm to engage Abdulazeez, Navy Times has confirmed with four separate sources. A Navy official also confirmed Monday's Washington Post report (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/marine-in-chattanooga-shooting-might-have-been-armed-officials-say/2015/07/20/1787a027-bbc4-429b-a8cc-9730d73b96a4_story.html) indicating one of the slain Marines may have been carrying a 9mm Glock and possibly returned fire on the gunman.

In it's simplest logic ... we have two guys assuming their 2nd Amendment Rights ... now both dead.

Incorrect. The Navy officer is alive and was not wounded.

So we have a test case (living) to see what the military will do. He was also the commander of the unit.

In the reserves, and Guard, many members are also law enforcement in their day jobs, so that could complicate matters. My National Guard commander was a federal marshal and had his service weapon with him.

If possible I think the pro Muslim golfer in chief in the White House will throw the book at him for disobeying orders.
