View Full Version : Has Roseanne Barr any chance of any votes?

This lady --- a great comedienne -- seems hell bent on getting her name on the ballot paper . Now the tiny Freedom and Peace party , rather than with the Green party where she failed to get the nomination .
Her manifesto is no doubt sincere and transparent .
But it is about as misguided as could be , imho -- a disaster of sloppy thinking and lack of prioritisation .
Has she any significant voter support either now or likely future?
Read on for her Policy Statement and at least have a giggle --- like legalise grass to finally put a stop to the drugs problem . And it goes completely downhill after that numbing opening shot .

She says she's a socialist. Why would a socialist vote for her when they can vote for Obama?

I am sure all decent people are Socialists .
It depends on the details that come after that all embracing declaration .

Trinity, there are socialists who are also feminist and just like some will vote for President Obama simply because he says he's black there are some who would vote for Roseanne Barr simply because she's a vicious bitch.

Why does it not surprise me that you single out the one reasonable suggestion she makes for your senseless ridicule? Tell us how well the "war on drugs" is working in the U.K.

She is far from the only one who has noticed the folly of criminalizing MJ, dunderhead. Maybe you should smoke some and mellow out.

Doubt she'd vote for herself.

And may be you should keep a civil tongue in your head without pulling your role down to a simple name caller .
Like one or two others here , you scribble before considering what you have said and why you said it ?
I am sure everybody here is aware of top expert advice on matters like legalisation of certain or even all drugs .I have been for at least two decades .
But that has nothing to do with the advisability or otherwise of alienating around 50% of your target votes by including such a dangerous and contentious issue in terms of perceived electoral attraction .
So less of your crass name calling and more respect to someone who is your intellectual superior by a long , long way .
OK , not that humble or reticent . But like Team GB , full of Gold Medals .

Peace and Freedom movement should be renamed Turmoil and Tyranny.

Soon as you demonstrate you are anyone's intellectual superior Cary, let alone mine, you'll get more respect.

The "experts" are FOS. They, like you, learnt nothing from prohibition.

The same people who consider Bill Maher a comedian can consider Roseanne Barr a great singer and politician.

I don't consider either of them great at anything but when someone points out the gross stupidity of the war on drugs, I'll acknowledge them for it.

Both of them IMO are poster children for the terminally degraded standards of talent and entertainment that typlifies today's culture. Back in the days of Jack Benny, Bob Hope, et. al. those two would have been mopping floors somewhere.
