Ironically the wife of my long time friend who I helped get the ACA after he passed away called me last night and said the ACA is killing her financially.

The first year her premium was 640 a month for one person with 30.00 copays, the second year it went to 760.00. She went for a catscan on her back and it cost her over the insurance 1100.00 out of pocket. She had back surgery and her bills are over 3,000.00

When I first got it for her I posted what I thought to be a good deal for people wthout insurance. Now not so much, its only a good deal for people that get it free via medicaid, anyone that has to pay its brutal. It needs to be changed so low income workers can afford it and afford health care.

No State Subsidy?

None, she makes to much for that, she is not rich but she is not poor enough either.

Sold to the public as reducing cost of Insurance

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/15/us/politics/cost-of-coverage-under-affordable-care-act-to-increase-in-2015.html?_r=0

This is just for 2015 which is one of the more mild years Since the passage premiums have nearly doubled, Deductibles are higher and you have fewer options

increase in taxes

Of course this is really what the ACA is about is taxation and regulations. But it is not talked about

Movement from full time to part time employment

Of course there are the usual can't keep your doctor, could not keep your insurance, changed law through illegal process to make subsidies legal.

Cigar the law is still Shit, even though we do this about once a month. It was a terrible law and it is still a terrible law, most people have to pay more for less coverage, and that far ought weighs that very few that have been helped

That's always been the case, before and after the ACA, but Single Payer couldn't get a Vote.

The old saying, the needs of many outweighing the needs of the few ... as always left someone out. No one ever said The ACA will be the magic pill for every single American.

But I here the GOP has a Plan ... so maybe they can help her.

Its not about me, its about her and she lives in Fla which didnt expand medicaid. I dont know all the ins and outs of obamacare, no one could know whats it in. All I know is what I was involved in personally. She is going to drop obamacare she turns 65 in march shes going to gamble till them. This 760 a month and addtional bills are murdering her, she isnt rich she has part of his pension income only. Spouses dont get 100% of his pension, they get a portion exactly what I dont know. Thats her only income at this point.

Right you have the needs of a few such as yourself, but it was negative for the vast majority. And the really nasty stuff is still to come and was put of by Obama until he is out of office.

Wait until the business mandate and the Union luxury tax comes into play.

But you know all this you are just running cover! And I am surprised it actually worked for you? beings that the only people that it actually helped were the people that qualified for expanded Medicaid?

My co-pays went up, but I am not tracking it well enough to say how much.
