View Full Version : Warning: Ted Cruz to lead 50-state attack on Planned Parenthood

Cigar

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who has assiduously courted evangelicals throughout his presidential run, will take a lead role in the launch this week of an ambitious 50-state campaign to end taxpayer support for Planned Parenthood — a move that is likely to give the GOP candidate a major primary-season boost in the fierce battle for social-conservative and evangelical voters.

More than 100,000 pastors received e-mail invitations over the weekend to participate in conference calls with Cruz on Tuesday in which they will learn details of the plan to mobilize churchgoers in every congressional district beginning Aug. 30. The requests were sent on the heels of the Texas Republican’s “Rally for Religious Liberty,” which drew 2,500 people to a Des Moines ballroom Friday.

“The recent exposure of Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practices . . . has brought about a pressing need to end taxpayer support of this institution,” Cruz said in the e-mail call to action distributed by the American Renewal Project, an organization of conservative pastors.

The push comes as Cruz seeks to grab a decisive edge in a crowded primary-within-a-primary, with half a dozen GOP contenders battling for what he has referred to as “the evangelical bracket.”

Why should planed parenthood receive half a billion dollars for services that they now can bill insurance companies for?

either Obamacare is a total and complete failure, or the DNC like that over 600 million a year that they receive in donations from Planed Parenthood

Either way there is NO reason to keep spending that money.

It's not an either/or answer. How many times have they voted in congress to repeal ACA? Maybe people want to wait to see how the political climate changes before dismantling a program beneficial to a large segment of our society.

That is great, but the law of the land is the ACA. Meaning that planned parenthood can bill the insurance companies.

So defund them now with a provision that if the ACA is repealed, the funding will be reinstated. I think that the Republicans, would jump all over that.

OK so lets just look at how a logical person would think.

The ACA is mandated everyone that does not have insurance is breaking the law.

The ACA mandates that these women's issues with the exception of abortion are covered by the ACA.

Planned parenthood also is not allowed to use federal funds for Abortion.

So they can bill for the services that they once did for free

Now my twisted way of thinking according to you is to stop the funding that they no longer need, until such a time that they need it again.

You plan is pay them twice for the services incase the ACA is repealed, they are covered?

I guess that my twisted way of thinking does not take into account the money laundering for the DNC into account

Statement from Eric Ferrero, Vice President of Communications, Planned Parenthood Federation of America:

“In health care, patients sometimes want to donate tissue to scientific research that can help lead to medical breakthroughs, such as treatments and cures for serious diseases. Women at Planned Parenthood who have abortions are no different. At several of our health centers, we help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research, and we do this just like every other high-quality health care provider does -- with full, appropriate consent from patients and under the highest ethical and legal standards. There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood. In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.

ACA isn't medical insurance...

Planned Parenthood is funded through MediCaid which is a Government funded health care program
and varies from state to state and was started in the 80's.

Was Obama President in the 80's?

Planned Parenthood provides health services to both men and women...
for ovarian cancer, pelvic cancer, STD's and HIV.

If Cruz is successful expect more people to get STDs and HIV.
