When the politicians stopped looking out for the people and started to consolidate power in DC, The end game was set in motion.

A Reset is what is needed, but a constitutional convention, is not the only way. the national debt will likely take care of the problem.

I don't disagree with the result. What is missing though is the "fact" that corruption is widespread outside the government also. Cheating, in all walks of life, has been noted and substantial for many years. A survey a few years ago showed 2/3 of Americans saying that corruption in business is widespread. Corruption is everywhere. Yet we go on. It is all a work in progress, including government. Libertarians want to dump all government because some of it is corrupt. No can do.

Nah, it just came to the forefront. One in five people in this country have some form of mental illness.

http://www.newsweek.com/nearly-1-5-americans-suffer-mental-illness-each-year-230608

Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics released Friday reveal.

The data, compiled by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), also indicate that approximately 9.3 million adults, or about 4 percent of those Americans ages 18 and up, experience “serious mental illness” – that is, their condition impedes day-to-day activities, such as going to work.

Government corruption isn't widespread despite public opinions.

But if you want to eliminate the corruption between Government and private industry you will have to do the following: (1) abolish the current abomination called the US Tax Code and supplant it with the Fair Tax; (2) implement term limits on Congress. Two six year terms for the Senate, three four year terms for the house; (3) abolish ALL Federal subsidies and; (4) abolish the departments of Agriculture, Education, HHS, energy, HUD, Labor and Transportation.

Anything less is mere wndow dressing.

I'd like to get creative on the corruption issue. Consider the consequences of having the following:
(1) pay all government officials, elected or otherwise, LOTS of money.
(2) have a "bounty" of LOTS of money (far more than they could possibly be bribed with) for turning in people who attempt to bribe them.
3) death penalty (or massive public shaming - perhaps tattooing all over, including the face, with "I am a crook") for people who attempt to bribe them.
(4) death penalty (or massive public shaming - perhaps tattooing all over, including the face, with "I am a crook") for the government official who falsely accuses someone of trying to bribe them.

For example, given the above, I would have no problem whatsoever in paying our Congresscritters $10 million per year, each. That's around $5.5 billion per year. Cheap at the price to get an honest government.

If you are serious, you would support an abolishment of the abomination called the tax code and institute the Fair consumption Tax as its replacement, argue for term limits in the Congress, support abolishing ALL Federal subsidies and the abolishing of the Departments of Dept of Agriculture, Education, HHS, energy, HUD, Labor and Transportation.

There is no such thing as a necessary evil. And that statement by you, and your view of human nature, says much more about your moral stature that it does about the human species.
