US Barack Obama asks Eruozone to keep Greece in until after election day

US officials are worried that if Greece exits the Eurozone, it will damage President's election hopes

The Obama administration will pressure European governments not to let Greece fall out of the eurozone before November's Presidential elections, British Government sources have suggested.

American officials are understood to be worried that if they decide Greece has not done enough to meet its deficit targets and withhold the money, it would automatically trigger Greece's exit from the eurozone weeks before the Presidential election on 6 November.

The President discussed the eurozone crisis with David Cameron during a conference call on Wednesday and both welcomed statements by the European Central Bank that it was "standing firmly behind the euro".

Poor baby. He's so worried. He should be. His performance in the last 3 years has been abysmal. More bad news piling up is hurting him more and more - he's done this to himself.

All that partying and neglecting the office is catching up to him. Plus he was always in over his head anyway.

It's time for him to go.

Time for him to Greece?

Obama has the same control over Greece as he does with Gas Prices ... you know, those $5 and $6 dollar/gallon prices; and don't forget, he's coming to take your Guns.

I recall an item from some time ago from a former aid or colleague saying Obama had a fatal grasp of economics, that he would give people a blanmk stare when given specific advice and completely ignore it when making the decision.

It is pathetic to think a president's presidential chances are hinged upon the decision of a bankrupt country with economic policies similar to his own.

Obama's unwillingness to drill where needed does directly and indiredtly affect prices at the pump and the prices of many other goods.

If His fraudship gets a second term, he will make a strong effort to restrict gun ownership.

What you make fun of is actually true, but you are too biased to see it.

Yet there's talk of releasing some of the strategic oil reserves to try to bring down prices. That never works - he's just wasting our SOR for his own benefit. It's shallow, pedantic, and frankly disgusting.

Bush rode around in government funded RVs? How come these were just purchased in 2009?

Never mind. Love the picture. He's going to get a real middle finger salute in November. And you better start looking for a real job.

Cary, care to comment on something you might actually know something about?

They are urging eurozone Governments to hold off from taking any drastic action before then – fearing that the resulting market destabilisation could damage President Obama's re-election prospects. European leaders are thought to be sympathetic to the lobbying fearing that, under pressure from his party lin Congress, Mitt Romney would be a more isolationist president than Mr Obama.

Let me translate that last sentence for you: The Americans might actually be less willing to print money to pay for our (Europe/U.K.) and, horrors, might actually ask us to start paying for some of it ourselves! Yikes!!

Well lets not forget Obama got the Word of the G8 that they would all release statements ALL on releasing their Oil Reserves. Which all did and gas prices have stayed relatively down. Except for us in Chicago. Since the REST OF the COUNRTY IS TAKING IT OUT ON US DUE TO OBAMA"S AZZ. Notice Hawaii is Right behind us. The Two Places he comes from in the US.

Why would a youngster pretend to be a mannerless yob among his elders and betters ? Strange boy with another difficult and unhappy upbringing , perhaps .

Regardless , it matters not a jot what anybody does or more likely does not do . The US and the EU are going down the pan and my comment is -- get the best seat in town and make sure you have the best investments .
Incidentally , in the entwined world there is no distinction between the US and EU as your leaders would prefer you to believe .
There is just one raft of banks and financial concerns , almost all tottering on the edge .
When the Italy situation is finally revealed simply look at the list of creditor banks -- first by EU sovereign nation and then because of contagion at the US .
The Federal Reserve have lent two $US trillion which they are not prepared to account for .
Where do you imagine the vast bulk went?
Do you really think that the US cares a monkey about the general malaise ? Only to the extent that propping up EU banks will help the US eek out a few more months before the house of cards collapses .
If as a rule of thumb you switch every piece of official comment by 360 degrees , you will end up looking very clever even though you probably know F-all .

LOL, I sure wish I was a youngster.

For sure we agree on that.

What do you consider the best investments? Hard to see anything other than gold surviving this mess.

Hit the ball right out of the park with this bit, yep!

Now that the Olympics is over, all they have is this:

Meanwhile, Obama pressures and manipulates in every direction trying to keep it all from collapsing on him. What an evil little man.

Sometimes you come off like a complete fool. If you don't know what that said it was that Obama is (for the most part) whining to the EU to leave Greece in the EU so it won't hurt him and his chances of bing re-elected. He's acting like a spoiled brat.
