The highway bill is Paul Ryan's first big test as speaker of the House. Debt collectors are feeling optimistic about it.

And thus, the start of the choking of the American people by Republicans begins yet again but on a new and more egregious manner. That is not the way to go about things. But since many Middle Class people as well as the Poor of both political parties will find themselves in this new situation, I hope they take good note of what the Republicans are trying to do to them by screwing them with this dastardly plan of theirs that can only benefit the private companies, a plan that even a cesspool would refuse to hold.

New situation? The middle class has been gitted and the poor made poorer under Obama.

The hard left should invest in snazzy uniforms like the Nazis. They fit the SS to a T.

Ill never get why republican supporters who arent rich and arent stupid, support insane crap like this.

The republicans are constantly bellowing about the private sector does everything so much better and in my lifetime theres only one thing that im POSITIVE they do better and thats cost more and provide LESS service. All you have to do is look at whats already been privatized and FAILED. Like Corrections Corp of America.

This isnt passing anyway.

This is rich! Lets examine what we know to be true.

1st the bottom 47+% of wage earners don't pay any federal income tax, so the IRS collections that are clearly not being done. (or there would be no need for a collection agency) are not going to be collected against the poor.

However the working poor and middle class do have one thing in common. they need to get to work, and when you raise the gas tax, the price at the pump goes up, and even public transportation will need to raise fee's to offset the price increase.

Now this of course could be off set if we would open back up shallow water off shore drilling, and areas closed down by the Obama administration to fossil fuel exploration, and if we would get the boot off the neck of clean coal power plants. then of course we could approve the Keystone Pipeline. These things would reduce energy costs enough to make it cheaper and still get the tax that the Democrats want. That is called compromise.

Then the collections by the IRS could be used to lower the deficit.

And last we could eliminate prevailing wage, then the road workers could work on the Federal Highway system at the wages they work on all other none state projects for and the US tax payer could receive more for their money.

But I am sure that those on the left will take great issue with this common sense approach.

Other than the military, what does the government do better than the private sector?

I will give you a place to start. look what happened to the student loan process when Obama and the Democrats decided that the government should be in control.

I never seen any evidence of that except that they are much better at swindling, defrauding, embezzling, robbing and lieing.

OK lets just look at the results.

Education, the Federal government was never involved in education until Carter Created the DOE in the 1970's. What has happened to the quality of education in the USA since that time. And considering that the USA spends more money per student that any other country in the world, would you say that is what the people should expect?
Then compare that to the children receiving private education in the USA, who rate among the highest educated people in the world and about 2/3rds the cost of a public school education.

Next lets look at the IRS. This Thread has at it's heart a program to turn over collections to the private sector, because the IRS is not getting it done, but we know because they have apologized for it that they spent thousands of hour and millions of tax payer dollars targeting Republican leaning political actions funds for political reasons?
When you turn over or sell a debt to a collection fee? We let's just say that they are not going out of business.

Since the invention of State Prisons, and the elimination of the chain gang and work crews, the cost has skyrocketed and repeat offenders have increased massively. The fact is in many cases it is nicer in prison than the poverty stricken hell holes that many of these criminals live in. Which were also created by the policies of the government.

So none of your examples hold true, they are all more costly and less effective.

We are looking for something that is less costly to the people and provides better services, and please don't put up anything to do with Healthcare, that has been a disaster for the people
