To summarize from the article: if the main stream media is indeed liberal, then why is there an almost total lack of stories about the following issues?

1. Where the jobs went.
2. Upward wealth redistribution and/or inequality.
3. ALEC.
4. The number of people in prison.
5. The number of black people in prison.
6. U.S. health care costs are the highest in the world.
7. Glass-Steagall.
8. Gerrymandering.
9. The number of bills blocked by Republicans in Congress.
10. The Citizens United Supreme Court decision.
11. Tax cuts primarily benefit the wealthy.
12. The impact of temporary workers.
13. Media consolidation

Media in America, Most of it, is owned by the very rich who are very left because it serves their purpose. A small amount of what we could call conservative can hang out and only somewhat conservative can be found on TV. Anything seriously conservative would be on AM Radio.

The ownership of media in the US is a real concern. There are only a handful of corporates that own (are licensed) most of the radio & TV freqs. & even fewer that have concentrated satellite & cable TV nets. The print media are waging a losing battle, but they've been consolidating ownership too. Disney, GE, Murdoch - look for media ownership in your browser of choice.

Yah, the political & cultural slant of journalism has always been up for grabs, & the earlier print media - bulletins, screeds, letters posted in public, etc. were very partisan. However, presses were much cheaper then, you can manage a hand press & run it yourself, if it came to that. Yellow Journalism was a phrase invented in the US, TMK.

There was a point in the muckraking tradition that print (the newspapers) set out to ID & cover malfeasance @ the corporate & government level. However, the corporates aren't interested in news per se - they're in the business of delivering eyeballs to their sponsors. & so CNN closed their science department decades ago. The networks mostly closed their overseas bureaux - except maybe to cover the WOT - & most of those correspondents are seconded Brits or Aussies (they speak English already, even if it is a funny accent). & so hardly any journalists know a tank from a Bradley from an engineering vehicle.

& so we get endless breathless Scheiss about Madonna or J. Bieber or the celeb du jour, as if any of that mattered in the least. But be of good cheer - the nice tame media will never challenge you to think about anything, except that new movie, car, deodorant, if your teeth are white enough, your hair shiny enough ...

Ninety percent of the media is owned by six corporations (graph showing who owns what).
That means you get a choice, but the choice is highly biased.
It’s why the headlines will focus on the social issues of blacks in prison, but not the overall number, or the ACA now bringing costs down, but not the impact of temporary workers, or tax cuts for the wealthy.

American media is the last place anyone should go to get news. When I log on to read my emails on Yahoo and get a pageful of Yahoo news, the bias is so stark it favours an editorial rather than news.

Of the others, 3 attack Russia, one is about how to make ornaments and the last about a movie not doing well.

It is interesting so lets take the items in the list.

#1 Where the jobs went. The Democrats have been in charge for 7 years. not reporting this would be covering for the left

#2 Redistribution to the top 10% This is something that was really in the news for the first 3 years of the Obama administration but again we are 7 years in and the wealth transfer is only increasing. not reporting this protect the left.

#3 don't know what this is?

#4 Number of people in Prison, not getting better under Obama. so not reporting is running cover

#5 Number of Black people in Prison, Same as Above, Plus the Democratic Party never gave up on racism, they just re branded it.

#6 Us health costs rising the ACA is the sole responsibility of the Democrats and not reporting this runs cover for them.

#7 Of course they are not reporting on this be cause the Democrats are allowing the merging to happen. so they are going to keep quiet

#8 Gerrymandering. What do you mean, the press was screaming how criminal this was, even though for as long as we can remember the Democrats did the same thing. It has just been 3.5 years.

#9 Blocked bills by republican. Have you heard of the do nothing congress. Again the left wing press is all over this. It is the Republicans fault that Obama is a failure.

10 Citizens united? Again, the press will shout this form the roof top, usually under the heading is there too much money in politics

11 Tax cuts benefit the wealth, Just let the republican propose this, even though it is a lie. Remember the Ryan budget the crucified him. So this is another false statement

12 impact of temp workers? Again they are not going to talk about the part time jobs and the temp workers because the democrats are in the WH they are running cover

13 Media consolidation? Well they are not going to tell on themselves

So if you look at the list, just like the Democrats it is dishonest and propaganda. Liberals can't help it the just lie.

#2 Redistribution? Do you mean of wealth? Does this refer to: Changing the law so Saving and loans and banks would loan monies for the purchase of property without buyer qualification. So that we gave the banks, too big to fail, moneys we didn't have.
