I do not think that you need to deport anyone unless they are caught by law enforcement. that can take care of itself. If we want to fix this problem use E-Verify end of story, if they cannot get work they will go home. Also, put some better penalties on companies that violate the E-Verify rules.
This is all we have to do.........

They should also put some teeth in the laws about hiring illegals by unscrupulous contractors/employers who don't use E-Verify. Mandatory jail time and confiscation of the business would be a great deterrent.
we could enforce the laws we have now on the employer side.

Agree with both.............That is all I am saying! Make E-verify work. I would contract with Visa (or one of the big companies). These guys are used to fraud etc and could put this together and manage it quickly. When I stated "violate E-Verify rules" I meant exactly what Del said.............. Why can't we do this? if there are no illegal jobs available they deport themselves or get legal fast. Put a workers program together and usher them to it.

Likewise, we certainly don't need to build a wall to divide Mexico and the U.S., one to which President Reagan if still alive would most likely say Trump, Tear Down This Wall!
The problem with E-Verify is that many companies may not be using it in reference to their employees and those who oversee the process may put a blind eye to it also simply because they know full well that without those folks that do the type of work Americans abhor and simply refuse to do, America might well come to a stand still thus, they know they need those folks to continue doing those jobs and E-Verify would just stand in the way.

Should have been done in the 80's imho .. at this point it would take quite a bit of time to transition without destroying the economy.
At any rate yea .. better now than never.

Jail business owners who hire illegals. Problem solved inside of 2 high profile court cases.
Open work centers inside Mexico. For jobs Americans "won't take" hit the number of Mexicans you need. Bus them in. House them in barracks. Ship them back when the job is over. No family with them.
But pay them at least minimum wage and cover health care costs while they are here.
Problem solved.

Illegal aliens are criminals and need to be treated as such.

As are the people who knowingly employ them.

The problem with that approach is that the Republicans would be against that right away since it would add yet another costly level of bureaucracy that they would not want to contend with thus, the less humane Eisenhower approach would be their preference which is simply not acceptable.

That is my approach. I don't speak for any party. The two main ones are corrupt.

Dont forget to throw able bodied American citizens off welfare.
Hunger and the need for walking around money will motivate them to take jobs they once declined.

Good points, although I would just lower welfare benefits to make jobs more attractive. Not end them altogether.

People who have been raised on welfare will cling to the system as long as it exists.
Maybe working under the table and collecting the government check.

We certainly could looking the other way is the very reason we have this problem.

that is why the fines for knowing hiring of refusing to use the system should be devastating to companies that either do in on purpose or are just negligent.
As for the wall or fence, if you don't control your border, you don't have a country.

Almost. Part 2
Cut off benefits to people of able body and mind that live near these jobs and are currently on Welfare or Unemployment programs.

And the compromise would be to do both. And you need not go door to door, When illegals seek public services healthcare, schooling for their kids, social assistance programs. There needs to be a check and if they are illegal they need to be detained and deported.
Companies need to be punished, Fines for those that are negligent, Devastating fines and jail time for those that are skirting the system.

Germany does that. If you don't take a job offered your welfare goes away.

Eisenhower's approach wasn't humane. The illegals that came back to the US were shipped really far south and dumped in a desert. Many died.
We need Operation Wetback Part Deux.

Yeah sure it is the republicans fault not the government's / DC's fault. I can't wait for the democrats to fix it..................Wasn't there a famous dem that said in the first 100 days while he had the senate and house he would pass "comprehensive" immigration if the mexicans would come out in force and vote for him? Huh Trueblue? Liar!
Passed a stupid HC bill that isn't living up to what they said it would do instead. Immigration was more important there wans't a person in America that couldn't get HC if they needed it before or after.

NO! That's not how our system works anymore. Just like the control freaks who believe that more gun laws will make up for the ones criminals are violating now. Or those that feel assaulting someone because you are a bigot is inherently a different crime than assaulting someone because the smiled wrong.
Don't you get it? Americans don't look to enforce existing laws or even to evaluate their effectiveness and they almost never take a law off the books. We just add law after law , it's what we do because it serves the Donkephant
