We ISIS has directly threatened NYC and Washington DC as of today. It has some cred since they were able to take a couple of bombs and guns and destroy parts of France (Plus blow up a Russian jet). Has to be taken more seriously.
I have been saying for at least 10 years that this element (call them what you want its all the same people rebranded) would not be able to pull off an event like 911 again. But I figured they would go to 30 cities and simultaneously blow up malls and high schools. This could easily be done.
Unfortunately the time is likely upon us..............Let us evaluate how we got here.
The middle east had calmed down.
We had solid control of Iraq
We pulled out improperly
When we realized it was improperly we said screw it
Then we armed what is ISIS in Libya (obviously not learning the lesson of regime change in iraq)
Removed kadafi
ISIS erupted
Syria erupted
We faked our toughness (dont you cross this redline)
Dont you use chemical weapons
DID NADA
Went on to be made fools of by Iran
Russian Jet blown up and we snickered at their involvement (see they got involved)
France not involved attacked again
YOU KNOW WE ARE ON THE RADAR

One event away and Dick Cheney returns in victory. Kind of amazing since Obama cut and disbanded much of the armed services and disengaged we are in some trouble.
