Thousands on the government's terrorist watch list, which includes the “no-fly list," bought firearms in the last decade. All of those sales were legal. Bills to close that loophole have been introduced for eight years in a row now, but they've all failed. Supporters hope the terror attacks in Paris will be the push Congress needs to pass it.

What "loophole"?

Interesting...this is where the rock meets the hard place. One set of laws set to prevent terrorist activities meets the Constitution. People on the terrorist watch list are not "criminals" in the eyes of the law.

I assume the "news" source is 180 degrees incorrect. But if true it is a stupid position to take. People on the no-fly list, people on black box psycho medication, etc should all be on the no you can't buy a gun list.

The snowflakes on the left want no guns. Thus they are ignored as not relevant.

The Second Amendment is outdated. Gun ownership is restricted in most of the civilized world and they all have less gun related crimes than we do.

Well there is a long process involved in changing constitutional rights. Good luck.

The Second Amendment says a well regulated militia and since we don't have militias anymore there's no reason for an amendment. We just need five judges on the SCOTUS who haven't been co-opted by the NRA.

Maybe you should actually try studying the Constitution and the Second Amendment in particular before commenting on it in the future.

Our Founders were clever. They gave us two ways to change the Constitution.

Stop bitching and get it done.

Public school education?

Got to follow the law. Just can't act on whim. If that became common place I imagine you would be one of the first to wet the bed.

They also have more oppression and genocide. Remember the history books talking about guys like Hitler and Stalin?

Find me one founders quote that supports your claim that the second applies only to militia.

All able-bodied males between the ages of 15 and 45 were the militia before and after the adoption of the Constitution. The 2nd Amendment was the status qou; it changed nothing.
