"Texas on Wednesday sued the U.S. government in an effort to block six Syrian refugees from resettling in Dallas this week."

"The Refugee Act of 1980 dictates that refugee resettlement within the United States is managed by the federal government. State refugee coordinators are consulted by the federal government and the nine refugee resettlement agencies that have contracts with the government, but that consultation is largely to ensure refugees are settled in cities with adequate jobs, housing and social services."

"Federal courts — including the U.S. Supreme Court — have upheld that immigration and admission of noncitizens to the United States is a federal responsibility and one managed wholly by the federal government."

Imho, one just has to say Poor Texas. They always seem to have a hard time learning about the Law of the Land. They never seem to do their homework well enough to learn that Federal law trumps state law, especially on immigration and refugee matters. When will they ever learn? Of course Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is more than happy and anxious to spend millions of citizen tax dollars going to court over this matter. But when all is said and done the outcome will be the same, that verdict will always be the same -- It is a FEDERAL matter when it comes to refugees and immigration issues and not a state matter.

You seem to be missong the point that a strong majority of Texans and Americans nationally do not want syrian refugess brought to America.

I think all Syrian refugees should live in the WH with Obama and his girls.

I'm sure other states will join in these types of suits. The electorate is angry and justified or not our elected reps have to answer to them when running for reelection. Very few if any politicians are going to argue with their districts by telling the voters "stop being bigoted"
