Warren Buffett Gives Stamp of Approval to Clinton
By Ken Thomas, Associated Press OMAHA, Neb.

"Introducing Clinton, Buffett offered a litany of statistics describing a growing chasm between the nation's rich and poor, lamenting, "millions and millions and millions of Americans have been left behind." Buffett was the namesake for the push by the Obama administration to seek a tax rate of 30 percent on those earning $1 million or more."

"Buffett has referred to Clinton as a "hero of mine" in the past and predicted last year that she would succeed President Barack Obama, whom he also supported."

"Democrats say Buffett carries a rare dual appeal on Wall Street and Main Street. The investment guru's annual shareholder meeting is dubbed "Woodstock for Capitalists" and drew an overflow crowd of more than 40,000 people from around the globe last spring."

Imho, Hillary Clinton has a good ally. He is one whom many will remember objected to his secretary having to pay more in taxes than he did as a billionaire. This can only help equalize the disparity that exists in this country with rich people paying less taxes and allowing the Middle Class to take the greatest hit.

So - apparently - those evil 1ers% are OK with you if they are Democrats?

That about it? Teensy bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say?

Why would it be hypocritical to appreciate the rare 1%-er who knows damn well that income inequality is a problem?

I am all for that 30% rate on those earning a million or more. A 9% tax cut would be great!

Do you know what the tax rate is today on someone that earn a million dollars?

What makes you think he is actually sincere? He owns assets worth billions, yet he keeps most of it locked up in corporate entities as unrealized capital gains where it cannot be taxed. And he will only donate money if it meets the legal requirements for charity, i.e., not taxable. When asked why he doesn't just give more tax money to the federal government (who is already swimming in trillions of dollars, hundreds of billions of which is wasted and pilfered away on special interests), he replied:

"I think that on balance the Gates Foundation, my daughter's foundation, my two sons' foundations will do a better job with lower administrative costs and better selection of beneficiaries than the government."

I guess as long as Buffet says the right things and endorses the right people, his actual actions matter not.

Hillary tells the public that she is for the common man. Her votes indicate that she if owned by Wall Street.

There is no sound argument to give the federal government more money. They already have trillions of dollars to spend every year in the form of tax revenue and debt. Much of this money is wasted on needless wars, authoritarian police statism, and cronyism. Why can't the political class in DC just manage the money they already have in a better manner? Why must Democrats insist on taking more money from the private sector and giving it to one of the most bloated and corrupt institutions on the planet? I suppose their next proposal will be to hand out more heroin to heroin junkies?

Let's be honest. Lots of Democrats are part of the political system and their paychecks depend on tax revenue in one way or another. Whether they directly work for the state or are some kind of contractor/adviser to the state, they are feeding at the trough of big government, and this explains their desire to funnel even more of the private sector's money to DC where they and their big government cronies can gorge themselves on the hard work of others. People who do not have the luxury of "job security", pensions, and the other fringe benefits associated with working for the state. I wouldn't be surprised if over 90% of the Democrats who post on forums like these are working for the government in some capacity or are operatives for the DNC. No wonder they never stop sticking their hands in other people's pockets. Granted, Republicans are not much better, but this thread is about Hillary Clinton and Buffet, both of whom want to raise taxes.

In the end, the political class are nothing more than sophisticated gangsters in business suits, and taxes are nothing more than an extortionate racket that serves to empower and enrich the political class. Granted, some of that money is used to placate the masses and keep them obedient and dependent on the state, but we should never confuse that with a sincere desire by the political class to give us what is ours by right. It's just the scraps from their tables, meant to keep us from replacing an exploitative system that serves the interests of plutocratic globalists.
