View Full Version : "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Not sure if I should post this here. Anyway, I'll get right to it. I think there should be a stickied topic for indexing statistics. There are some true and blue posters that constantly reference statistics that are alarmingly one-sided. I feel as though a topic out to exist that archives statistics for posters to reference in other topics. If someone says 95% of Americans support gun control, I think there should be analysis that doesn't clog up said topic. Or x% of Americans support this or that. New polls or statistics could wind up in the Latest Happenings forums but ultimately statistics I believe deserve a topic here. If only because they're so easily manipulated that partisans will obviously cherry pick them.

You're one of those who claimed 90% of Americans agreed with Obummer about gun control. Talking about yourself again?

The definition of hypocrite should include you.

And Constitutional scholars ...

Liberals could never be acused of having read the Constitution. Much less be acused of being scholarly in just about anything.

Statistics are incredibly easy to manipulate and misstate. Quite frankly, I don't really see the point in establishing a database of what would no doubt soon become a whole bunch of contradictory conclusions.

Well I did want to leave some room for error.

Why would I want to call you anything? I merely call out your lies, distortions, glaring hypocrisy and race hustling...nothing more.

If you ever advance beyond that, I'll be the first to thank you.

Nobody is going to agree on any one set of established statistics.

Statistics are about probabilities. Few people understand probability.

Statistics are about probabilities. Few people understand probability.

Nate Silver is one of the few who actually do.

But his statistics (as you'll remember) were tossed aside by cons in the last election cycle.

Like i said, there is no such thing as statistical bipartisan consensus - about ANYTHING.
