Tsk, tsk. You would think her scripted, er I mean heart-felt speech about the hardships both her and Barack suffered growing up in working class homes would be based on FACTS about their upbringing. But it seems Michelle twisted reality a little to pull on the heartstrings of undecided voters. How disgusting to throw his grandmother under the bus for a few more votes.

Hey Michelle – Why You Lyin’ About Barack’s Grandmother Like That???

by Ulsterman (http://theulstermanreport.com/author/ulsterman/) on September 5, 2012

...

“When it comes to rebuilding our economy, Barack is thinking about folks like my dad — who worked at a municipal water plant — and his own grandmother, a bank secretary,” the first lady said.

Hmmmm…either Michelle Obama is unaware of the well known history of her husband’s grandmother – or she is purposely misleading the American public with her description of Barack Obama’s grandmother as “bank secretary”. Madelyn Dunham, the Obama matriarch whose home Barack Obama moved into full time by the time he was in 5th grade and where he would reside until graduating high school some eight years later, was far more than a mere “bank secretary” as described by Michelle Obama.

Madelyn Dunham was in fact a bank vice president by the time young Barack moved into her home.
All of the economic benefits of two wage earners, including one who was a high powered bank executive, were given over to Barack Obama, who wanted for nothing, and spent his days in Hawaii smoking weed, playing basketball, and befriending the local drug dealer – who also happened to be a homosexual. (And who Obama also dedicated a passage in his senior yearbook to.)

So leave it to Michelle Obama to perfectly exemplify the lying platform upon which her husband’s re-election is based upon. Barack Obama was, for much of his youth, a child of privilege – one who was given much from the salary of a grandmother making good within the banking industry. And good for Madelyn Dunham for having done so – and shame on Michelle Obama for attempting to hide that fact out of fear it may lessen the Obama campaign’s phony populist image.

Just another empty chair in a room full of them at this week’s DNC convention.

Shame, shame, Michelle. I mean, we knew you weren't sincere when you never even teared up during what was supposed to be an emotional speech... but stretching the truth like that is just tacky. Esp about his dead grandmother. Is nothing sacred?

What do you think a female bank president earned in Hawaii in the 1960s and early 1970s?

Oh well, she wouldn't want to admit his grammy was a "bankster", now would she? She's such a phoney.

Helluva lot more than a secretary. Also, we're talking 60's and 70's dollars, not today's dollars. $100 bought a lot more then than it does now.

Not to mention the privilege of growing up in paradise. It's no wonder Barack is so laid-back (read: lazy). His most formative years were spent smoking Maui-wowie and hanging loose.

I hope I'm not the first person to break this to yea ... but the only person who is not a Vice President at a Bank, is the President. :smiley_ROFLMAO:

Sure, Cigar. No such thing as tellers, clerks and secretaries.

Why do you think Michelle lied? Desperation?

in general, I find this whole humble beginnings facade from both sides a joke, do not care if Romney's had to eat meals from an ironing board or how the Obama's had school loans higher than their mortgage (possibly not attending ivy league schools or purchasing a home before financially ready would have been a good idea).. but I do agree misinformation (otherwise known as lying) about these type of things are classless, counter-productive and the notion that a tough up-bringing somehow makes one a better President is nonsense, imo.

Couldn't agree more. The rise to wealth & power is only noble if achieved outside the political arena. Otherwise, it's just living high on so much payola. The Obamas got rich off his books (written by Bill Ayers) and his crooked political connections as a senator from Illinois. It's no wonder Michelle has to lie to make it look better... the truth about their success story is actually pretty ugly.
