It doesn't matter to me, so long as the feature to list all unread messages remains. That is how I use the forum, unless I want to post a topic- then I go into the relevant forum.

It matters little at this point how you re-structure .
This is an increasingly cosy chatting club for Rep Extremists who live for name calling and abuse-- with one or two honourable exceptions .

No , and Obviously not .
Fight fire with fire .
Or would you like the two or three people who detest you collectively to move so that you can bathe completely as a bunch of clones in hate and mutual back slapping ?
I am a real right winger and I detest how you abuse Conservatism and in your insularity have no conception of how far you have been left behind . That's why Europeans laugh at you .

What matters most to me is being able to go to 'last unread" and "what's Happening."

The rest is fine, the layout is easy to read. I don't understand the rewards system but then I haven't availed myself of the instructions -- so it's all good.

too new to render an opinion on site layout, but in the few days involved with site I have found it rather easy to navigate.

regarding Post above, while I respect the right to air most any opinion, I take exception to the statement.. "That's why Europeans laugh at you ." First as an American Citizen I really do not give a crap what Europeans think of us, and second if it were not for the brave and selfless acts of thousands of American Citizens that supposedly Europeans are laughing at , Europeans would be eating a steady diet of sauerkraut for breakfast, lunch and dinner and most likely without the ability to tell American Citizens how they are laughed at by them via the internet.. unbelievable.

To be honest I think you have done a great job. I don't know why someone would be disagreeing unless they want different topics for something. I do know that sometimes I have to think hard to decide which topic is correct for a thread, but that's about it and I still think I get things wrong on occasion.

This list helps, but I'm not sure a newcomer would know 'rants' means political opinions or U.S. Politics in General means elections.

Without being able to see who voted for what, I'd guess the one's who've been here the longest are comfortable with the way topics are listed. Maybe Trinnity's 'key' could be stickied in the intro section so folks would have a better idea where to post their topic?

I voted reorg. Here's my suggestion: Collapse Dems and Reps into US Politics. They're confusing--and I don't mean I don't see a lick of difference between the Parties. I think they were created as rooms for Dems and Reps to discuss, but seem to be used to post anti-Dem and anti-Rep stuff, for example 15 of the top 20 threads under Reps are trolls by cigar. Also it leaves out Libertarians, Independents, and other political groups.

Mind you, it's not that big a thing, but since we're asked for examples, this is one. It's nothing at all when viewing, since I use What's New, but starting threads it's a bit confusing.

But it's a good place to put them. The rest are pretty straightforward. Maybe ADMIN can add a "Political Opinions and Beliefs".

Good idea, Chris.

Just for clarity, I'd like to see the The Latest Happenings renamed Current Events. It's what most viewers look for when they're looking for reaction to current news stories.

BTW, I think this is a great forum and I really like the whole 'vibe' here. Issues like section titles are no big deal when compared to the fact the owners are willing to listen to member suggestions. That alone raises this place about 3 notches above other forums I visit.

Thx for asking. ;)

Mr. Grant, I took exception to the message of 'Europeans laughing at Americans' (which most likely is accurate), not with you personally. Europeans enjoy many of the freedoms they have today in large part to the selfless sacrifice of thousands of American Citizens. So please have fun laughing at us and enjoy the freedom of beating on that keyboard hurling personal insults to people you do not even know. IMO, we need a "Complaints and Suggestions" sub-forum where members can air grievances on whatever may concern them; where only the mods and admin can view the thread and converse with a member about his/her concern or complaint. I think this is something sorely lacking and definitely needed.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Having said that it would HAVE to be a forum where the topic is strictly adhered to....

Frankly I am sick and fucking tired of a discussion aimed at improving this already good forum turning into deviant cheap shots and personal insults. FFS even a post designed to compliment the hard working mods and get this back on track turns into gutter slime slinging personalized bullshit.

While I like the "light handed" approach, the childish violations of one individual on this forum are insult and a cancer on the over all forum.

We can fight all we want in the appropriate forums, but to bring it in here, where people are mostly setting aside their differences to improve what we have is simply wrong.

Let's be adults here and work together for the benefit of the forum and leave aside our own petty peeves for this one instance....

Please!

I have no preference to the layout. I am a Jr Mint poster on this site, but it seems to operate well and the categories are not confusing at all, just a different theme/concept names have been applied compared to some other sites.

Input. I like the non regulated language. Anti-PC is a refreshing direction.

Yes, the disregard for PC is great. I've been on some forums (I have one in particular in mind) where thread after thread became arguments over the perceived racism of a poster. Who the heck cares. Argue ideas. If you can't beat "racist" ideas then it's time to reevaluate where you stand.

Great idea but might be difficult to implement. For a member to post there s/he'd have to have access to also read and so how block from reading other's threads?

You might set up a forum area where you could give a member access to discuss an issue presented first by PM.

Absolutely. I have long argued that the limitations of a contrived debate with PC restricitions, is a contrived answer of those afraid of the truth. Racism is real, it isn't pretty...and it certainly encapsulates the liberal ideology far more than the conservative ideology.
