"Republican Massachusetts Sixth District congressional candidate Richard Tisei, an openly gay, fiscally conservative, and socially moderate former state Senate minority leader, is running against entrenched Democratic Rep. John Tierney...."

How is this possible? We all know from the purveyors of hatred that Republicans hate gays. How can Republicans allow a gay man to run as a Republican against an entrenched Democrat? Is it possible that Republicans, most Republicans, don't hate gays?
If Democrats let go of divisiveness and hatred and simply ran as socialists they'd have no chance and they know it. So, they are doomed to be burdened with promoting division and hatred. How sad.
