An interesting article (http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/01/first-ladies-first-husbands-2016/431556/) making a point I had not noticed. The campaigns have been largely leaving the wives out of the controversy this time as opposed to the previous trend. Michelle Obama was heavily scrutinized, Cindy McCain was ruthlessly attacked, etc..

"This election season has been notably free of the vitriolic attacks on candidates’ spouses that have marred recent races."

Trump and rubio have attractive wives.

That is an asset in a shallow culture like ours.

None of the other significant others stand out except for hillary and in her case Huma Abedin is actually a liability for the Cookie Lady.

That could be part of it. I think the media has been so preoccupied with Trump and emails that they have not had to search for things to talk about quite as much. Down the road, when there is only the nominees, we might see the spouses getting harassed again.

Oh, and most of the recent polls I have seen put Bill's favorability over fifty percent. I don't think he is that much of a liability.

Did I mention Bill Clinton?

I was assuming you were trying to be clever with the Hilary/Huma thing. Nevermind.

"Snide" might be more accurate.

and I dont think Bill is an asset beyond the fossilized old liberals who are going to vote for hillary anyway.

I don't think he is much of an asset this time, either. I also don't think he is much of a liability. Just sort of neutral, a familiar face.

That is because it is still the primary. Wait until the General.

Though I think that the first Dude will be fun to watch. As Hillary has to start answering for his past moral lapses

And it will be interesting to watch Bill in the WH chasing Pussy full time.

You would have been correct, Accept for Hillary's statement that all women have the right to be believed in cases of Rape.

This she will have to answer for, as she openly accused those assaulted by Bill of lying.

Perhaps my memory is faulty, in this instance, but I live in McCain's home state and I don't remember Cindy McCain ever being "ruthlessly attacked".

I doubt I could find it now, but I remember there being endless comments about her being cold, robotic, and inhuman. I could be remembering it wrong, though. I seem to remember it fading away when people started paying attention to the daughter.

Great point i'd not heard much about as yet. I think we'll see more of that in the general election season.

It seems Trump tried three times before he settled on the present one, which is not surprising as he does everything in threes, especially his sentences.
