During Wednesday night’s Democratic forum, Anderson Cooper asked Clinton whether she shouldn’t have taken $675,000 to give three speeches to Goldman Sachs. “Well, I don't know. That’s what they offered,” she replied (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/bernie-sanders-hillary-clinton-progressive-attacks-218721).

puts me in mind of the famous churchill line

Churchill was the greatest leader of the 20th Century.

Far greater than the half african jerk in the white house who insulted him.

Democrats hate people with money; unless they happen to be Dempcrats.

Nothing more ironic than quoting Churchill on a thread about Shrillary.

Why did she take $675,000 for 3 speeches?

Wouldn't you?

Two Liberals who cannot comprehend the disconnect between a partisan message impugning the wealthy as a societal problem that only Liberal politicians can fix while those same Liberal politicians take exorbitant fees to enrich themselves.

The irony is rich.

Say what she will, it's a problem for her.

This issue will likely be front and center in tonight's debate.

Should be fun!

Clinton struggles to answer question about paid speeches to Wall Street firms

By Abby Phillip February 3 at 11:59 PM

MANCHESTER — Just as Hillary Clinton was preparing to close out a surefooted performance at the CNN Town Hall in New Hampshire, she got a question about those paid speeches to Wall Street firms.

"Was that a bad error in judgement?" moderator Anderson Cooper asked. "Did you have to be paid $675,000?"

"Well, I don't know, that's what they offered, so..." Clinton said after noting that she made speeches to "lots of groups."

Copper noted that those people weren't running for political office after leaving their post at the State Department, as she eventually did.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/02/03/clinton-struggles-to-answer-question-about-paid-speeches-to-wall-street-firms/

Duck....Dodge....Hide...when all else seems to fail, convenient memory loss seem to work. It appears Hillary learned well from Bill's Paula Jones deposition. During that deposition Bill said "I don't know" (http://prorev.com/legacy.htm) 62 times and lost his memory of things 267 times. I'm sorry, but "Well, I don't know, that's what they offered, so..." that is an unacceptable answer. Does she really think folks will believe she will get paid $675,000 to speak only and they won't expect anything in return? I think one would have to believe in the tooth fairy and Leprechaun's to actually believe anyone would pay anyone else that much money just to talk. I realize all politicians "bend" the truth. But I believe, Hillary actually "cracking down" on Wall St is the biggest Whopper of this election so far.

I agree, however when you are attempting to pretend to be with Bernie on Wall Street malfeasance, yet accept that kind of money right around the same time we bailed them out to the tune of BILLIONS?

PROBLEM

Opened a thread on this last night within seconds of her comments. My comment was LOL that she didn't know she was gonna run. All we saw for years was "I am ready for Hillary" bumper stickers all over the road.

The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy answer (not to mention a weird question) answer was priceless.........Ever heard where there is smoke there is fire? Way to much smoke around those people.

But nobody will ever cross that threshold .. Joe McCarthy is dead.
