Democratic donor contacts Biden allies about possible run

By Luciana Lopez | Reuters | February 6, 2016

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A prominent Democratic donor worried about the party's chances of winning the presidency emailed dozens of fans of Vice President Joe Biden on Friday, urging them to remain prepared to donate if Biden jumps into the race.

The donor, Bill Bartmann, cited new polling showing Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont nearly tied with the Hillary Clinton, eroding the 30-point lead the former secretary of state held at the end of last year. Bartmann and other party insiders are concerned that Sanders, a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist, is too far to the left to win against a Republican in the Nov. 8 presidential election.

"We cannot afford to lose the White House," Bartmann wrote in the email, seen by Reuters.

If they want Biden they need to get him into the race fast as there's not much time. Hillary won't leave the race voluntarily. Perhaps the DOJ will end it for her......

Hillary Clinton's Coming Legal Crisis

By Charles Lipson | January 13, 2016

Secretary Clinton didn’t just send sensitive (and now-classified) emails over open lines, she stored them on private servers that didn’t meet the government’s cyber-security standards for sensitive documents. On its face, retaining classified materials in such vulnerable settings is a criminal violation. Senior intelligence officials have been charged for less – far less. Storing some 1,300 classified documents on a personal server, and doing it for years, poses a special problem because it shows the mishandling was not inadvertent. It was Clinton’s standard operating procedure.

Myself I can't see her not facing charges. I don't think I'm alone either. I can't see how country loving Democrats can ignore the blatant law breaking, I also think they don't. That would explain the popularity of Sanders over Hillary. This would pave the way for Biden to jump into the race as a more moderate alternative to the far left Sanders. I guess Biden could pop up at the Democrat Convention in July, however the Democrats haven't nominated a candidate that didn't participate in the primaries since 1968. Then Humphrey lost in a three way race between Nixon, Humphrey and George Wallace running as a spoiler siphoning off votes from Nixon. If Biden shows up at the convention and the party promotes him over Sanders, I fully expect Sanders to run as an independent. He would take the far left votes away from Biden and hand the victory to the unified Republicans.
