On the Democrat side, Bernie Sanders spent $8.1 million and raked in 60.14%. Hillary Clinton spent $10.8 million and garnered 38.18% of the vote.

For the Republicans, Donald Trump spent $3.7 million and got 35.4% of the vote. John Kasich spent $12.1 million and recieved 15.7%. Ted Cruz spent $580 thousand and recieved 11.7% of the vote. Jeb Bush spent a whopping $36.1 million and got 11.0% of the vote. Marco Rubio spent the third highest at $15.2 million and recieved 10.5% of the vote. Chris Christie spent the second highest at $18.5 million and came in dead last at 7.4% of the vote.

I find this fascinating. The left has carped about Citizens United and big money buying elections since the decision was made in 2010, then attempted to use it as an excuse for the 69 seat loss they had the same year. The top 2 Republican candidates didn't spend anywhere near what the biggest spenders did. Bush, Rubio and Christie spent a combined $69.8 million to come in near or at the back of the pack compared to the $4.3 million spent by 1st and 2nd place winners.

I think 2016 will be a historic year for the United States. The establishment politicians on both sides of the aisle need to be very worried about their careers.
