Appointing a supreme judge has great political consequences

The Repubs are not required to salute and shout Javohl! When Der Fuhrer commands

That cuts both ways

You do know that the unelected gods do not review every lower court ruling?

That means any are allowed to stand

To correct a typo above substitute "many" instead of "any"

MSNBC and fact in the same sentence?

When you say appointed dear sir are you saying confirmed? Your answer will be critical to your claim.

 Yep; because in liberal loony land, having a President of No is so much better.

There's nothing factual about MSNBC unless you're a naive clueless liberal.

The number CONFIRMED is actually closer to 14. The below is a great article about the issue. A better analysis would include what party was in power in the Senate and what party controlled the White House during these events. Remember, Democrats ruled Congress for almost forty years before the BillyBob Presidency.

Here, again, it's hard to give too much weight to events that occurred before most of our great-great-grandparents were born. But if you look far enough back in the history book, you can find examples of the Senate rejecting presidential nominations in their final year in office.
