If you didn't already know that the Supreme Court has become nothing more that an extension of the Donkephant you should be well aware now. One of the Justice's dies and what do we hear? Obama needs to appoint an ultralib, or the repubs need to block any nomination he makes just because. Where in the clamor is the call for a Justice who best understands and will uphold the Constitution?
The so called "two party system" has made a mockery out of the SC, which would more accurately be called a puppet court.
So how do the people and or states go about resisting unconstitutional SC decisions ? Civil disobedience perhaps for the people and the states could grow a set and simply refuse to follow unconstitutional mandates .

Unfortunately, this country has turned into a childlike democracy ... meaning, if one side doesn't get it's way, it takes it's ball and no one can play. It's getting to the point where these children need to be placed on punishment where they will have to sit and watch others play without them.

Great idea! Put the Republicans and Democrats on electoral time out and give their seats to the Libertarian, Green, Socialist, and Constitution Parties.

Sometimes I have to wait a few months for the real Cigar to comment, and sometimes it is worth it.

The one thing that is for sure is we are all tired of these politicians, no wonder Trump is doing so well in the middle and right. People are ticked off.

I got to admit, part of me wants Trump to win ... just for no other reason, than to bring reality back down to earth.

Sometimes you have to Fail BIG-TIME, to bring Perspective into the light.

Trust me, I'm in Software Development, nothing brings success faster than failure.

Excuse me. Sam Alito, John Roberts, Scalia, and Clarence Thomas are Constitutional scholars and decided issues quite outside politics. The 'two party' system has been around for centuries, that process didn't politicize the court......our Presidents and Congress have. Democrats blocking Bork for example, the votes were even tight confirming both Alito and Roberts.

I think the politics derives from the Leftist tent. Where some in the GOP have contributed....we're not free of blame for this accusation....we're not the Party with confirmations Sotomayor, Kagan, nor RBG.....we ALL know for certain what way they'd vote on say Obamacare. It was Roberts who dismissed politics and ruled with Kagan ad Crew on Obamacare..........everyone on this forum knew full well where the Dem appointed judges were going despite the facts. Your Party is where most of the blame belongs, donttread. You've made your bed, now whine about having to sleep in it.

Oh please.. the four you mentioned have been every bit as partisan and political as the rest of 'em including payback for Poppy by selecting his idiot son in 2000.

And there's no such thing as a Supreme Court judge who isn't a constitutional scholar.

You some how used what passes for "logic" to determine that the LP is to blame?

I know this may sound like a conspiracy theory but I fear the Donkephant might work together to vote tamper against "outside parties" as they become a threat . However, they have accused each other of vote tampering and if any of that is true think of what they might plan to keep other parties out.
To be honest, I've quite fully believed that Perot got more votes than he was credited with

The repubs are being asked by some within their minions to reject Obama's nomination before they even know whom it will be in order to block the nomination process for a freakin year .
Acting in bad faith is the only thing to call that.
