In the battle for primary votes, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a tight battle.

But you wouldn't know it to look at the superdelegates. In the unseen battle for these party insiders, Clinton has an overwhelming lead. Of the 712 Democratic superdelegates, 449 (or around 63 percent) currently support Clinton, according to the latest Associated Press survey (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/0617d451fe3b403b846c4dd1847cb5f8/despite-nh-loss-dem-insiders-boost-clintons-delegate-lead) of superdelegates. Only 19 support Sanders. (AP did not reach 62 superdelegates, and 182 remained uncommitted or undecided.)

Taking superdelegates out, Sanders has a 36 to 32 lead, based on the vote in Iowa and New Hampshire. But this superdelegate advantage is not only a huge lead for Clinton but a big gain as well. Since the AP's November survey (http://www.npr.org/2015/11/13/455812702/clinton-has-45-to-1-superdelegate-advantage-over-sanders), her total has jumped 90 delegates. Sanders, meanwhile, has risen 11, from 8 to 19.

the system seems to be working as designed. If the GOP had a similar number of super delegates themselves, Trump would not be as big a problem for them.

Someone said it the other day. They took Bernie's delegates and gave them to Hillary, just as Bernie wants to take your money and give it to someone else. Karma! Ain't it sweet?

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. If Sanders picks up a few more states and Clinton gets more delegates, there is going to be trouble. Our local paper here in NH has been flooded with angry dem voters who are angry at how the superdelegates here supported Clinton even though Sanders won. There is also a push to get them to change their votes.

So you are spinning this as a positive? So what voters we don't care what you think? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I think the republican system is working the way it should and the dems are sorry for this little charade....

What a fraudulent system. A process openly decided by elites is corrupt and illegitimate.

Its becoming quite apparent and honestly I never realized it before this election, that the democrat system is made for the elites choosing who is their nominee regardless of the voters. What bullshit

Cool. How does that change the fact that the democratic primary is an openly corrupt process decided by elites?

Meh. If they want to steal the nomination for Hillary, let them. Even if Bernie loses, he and those of us who support him still win, and Hillary and the establishment loses. Not much point in trying to rig the system.

To quote The Walking Dead, "If you have to eat shit, best not to nibble. Bite, chew, swallow, repeat."

Clinton is a New Yorker and the DNC is headquartered in D.C....

It is a political phrase that has a specific meaning relating to the extreme dirty politics of Chicago.

The primaries are rigged to ensure that the dems anointed one who is in reality more like a neocon, gets the nomination. The DNC is spitting in the face of their own voters , saying "we know you like Bernie, but you are too stupid to make these choices so we'll over ride you"
Bushma will live on through Hilary
