I think one of the main reasons that the "two major parties" go to such lengths to shut 3rd parties out of the process is this"
They know if the public sees Gary Johnson agreeing with Jill Stein or Bernie Sanders on an issue and state simple straight forward solutions to problems that the people might see how they are being used. They might not be able to deny the fact that we keep facing the same problems as a nation because our current politicians are bought and paid for.

That's not what I meant. I' was referring to the Libertarian and the socialist agreeing on anything that the donkephant can't fix. It's surprising how many times 3rd parties coming from completely different idealogical places agree with each other.
