... OK so I guess a Chicago School Teacher's $70k income is now not that much.

Mitt Romney is promising to reduce taxes on middle-income Americans.

But how does he define "middle-income"? The Republican presidential nominee defined it Friday as income of $200,000 to $250,000 a year and less.
The definition of "middle income" or the "middle class" is politically charged as Romney and President Barack Obama fight to win over working-class voters. Romney would be among the wealthiest presidents, if elected, and Democrats have repeatedly painted him as out of touch with average people.

Obama also has set his definition for "middle class" as families with income of up to $250,000 a year.

Romney's comments came an interview broadcast Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"No one can say my plan is going to raise taxes on middle-income people, because principle number one is (to) keep the burden down on middle-income taxpayers," Romney told host George Stephanopoulos.

"Is $100,000 middle income?" Stephanopoulos asked.

"No, middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less," Romney responded.

His campaign later clarified that Romney was referencing household income, not individual income.

The Census Bureau reported this week that the median household income — the midpoint for the nation — is just over $50,000.

Stephanopoulos is a died-in-the-wool democrat whose main objective in life is to make any republican look silly. I pay as much attention to him as the box of Cheerios on my shelf.

So just concentrate on the actual words that came out of Mitt's mouth if it makes you feel better. :)

I'm really starting to wonder who's advising this guy ... or is this all his own stupidity.

Middle income really has a lot to do with where you live. Try to buy a house in San Francisco and you'll find out how poor you really are with your 100k salary. Likewise, you can buy a house for a song in some places, assuming you don't mind living a million miles from the nearest General Store, the one where the store owner is also the mayor, the judge, and the sheriff. :).

I think most people would agree that up to 250 grand is middle class, okay upper middle class. A nurse can easily make 80 grand a year with overtime maybe more. Nothing here guy so go out an look for that TRUCK!

It depends on where you live. In NYC $250K is definitely middle class. In Iowa it is certainly not.

Yet this is the narrative, a nurse making 80 grand a year marries a programmer working for GE Medical devices making 100 grand a year is now rich an yes the enemy to those on the left. Cigar is only making a point of whom will be consider vulnerable if Obama wins in Nov, hope you are really happy with yourself cigar. Obviously those will soon be your marching orders are you ready to "Hate" anyone who makes more then the median?

Gosh, I would hope that a self-described success like Cigar with a wife with a good job too would easily be making this kind of money.

Hmmm, more evidence of a big fat phony here?
