Can't really blame the crowd, we already celebrate their lack of intelligence.

But what's the excuse for the Cop?

Really, exactly why should he be respected by any Community?

Yes they must represent the department NO differently than if they were on duty, because when you're a cop, you're always on duty and you're always representing the department.

Well, given that they were there to keep the rally peaceful, I think they did that, based on the video. It may not have been completely fair, they probably should have escorted the cowboy out as well, but....

Man Charged With Assaulting Protester At Trump Rally In North Carolina: ReportSource: Reuters

A man is facing criminal charges after police say he assaulted a protester being removed from a rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in North Carolina, local television station WRAL reported on Thursday.

John McGraw, 78, of Linden, North Carolina, has been charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct, the news station said on its website. The incident on Wednesday night in Fayetteville was caught on video by bystanders.

Sheriff's officials could not be immediately reached for comment on Thursday.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office earlier told the Wall Street Journal it was investigating why officers arrested the protester but not the man who punched him in the face.

Well, right, it didn't seem right, but I think they saw there job as escorting the guy out and stuck to it after he got hit. We don't see what happened before the video to cause the escort. And we know after, the hitter was charged. The video just ins't enought to do more than enflame.

This might explain some of it...

Violent encounters have become a normal part of Trump events as the businessman’s campaign for the Republican nomination has progressed.

During a March 4 rally in Warren, Mich., Trump called for a protester to be ejected, according to the Associated Press.

“Try not to hurt him,” Trump said. “If you do, I’ll defend you in court.”

Trump later recalled a fight during a New Hampshire rally, saying: “It was really amazing to watch.”

During a November event, a Black Lives Matter activist was pushed and shoved as he was removed.

“Maybe he should have been roughed up,” Trump later said on Fox News.

At a February event in Las Vegas Trump said on stage that he’d “like to punch” a protester “in the face, I tell ya.”

Sorry, but I disagree. If it was just two officers escorting the guy is one thing, but at the end of the video you see there are at least 8 officers milling around. What does what happened before to cause the escort have to do with a random person punching someone being escorted? Even if he shot four people and was being escorted out without any restraints for some reason, does that give the person who struck him a free pass to do so?

It is what it is.

"Donald Trump was right," the two men said, according to police, as they beat the man with a metal pipe and then urinated on him. "All these illegals need to be deported."

What I saw in the video was two officers, looking down, not seeing the punch. I assume they were escorting already, not sure. What I've read elsewhere is officers were posted at the top of step because people tended to fall and they were there to help.

Some reports say the protester was cuffed on the ground. That didn't happen.

Hey, I'm not defending the cowboy, what he did was wrong. And he's charged for it. If what I reported above is true, Trump is instigating the violence.

But I'm not ready to blame the cops.

No, I can't...well, yes, I can, and it'll be a disaster. It took decades for the Presidency to recover from Nixon and then Clinton, from Trump could take longer.

This is the lead story on MSNBC Hardball so I have been many repititions of the punch.

Therefore I will skip all the lib outrage here and cut to the chase.

The man was wrong and should be charged with assault.

Which apparently is what will happen.

So justice will be done and it will cost the white trump suppoer some money and maybe a few hours of community service picking ip trash along the highway.
