If true -- I hope he dies a long and painful death.

As far as I know, however, the only charges against him at present concern bank withdrawals.

Which is why I said, "If true..." because we'll never know for sure...unless he admits to it.

Dang. You're right. Forget about the legal process. Let's just get a rope and lynch the dude like they used to lynch blacks who were accused of crimes that were never proven.

What could go wrong?

I never once called him Guilty, and I never once said Mr Speaker isn't entitled to Due Process.

... No different than Hillary Clinton  Correct?

Ah - but you insinuated that he was guilty and you titled this Thread in the same manner.

What you don't like is being called on your hypocrisy.

LOL -- in a last ditch effort to save face - you play the Hillary card?

Hillary-ous.

Is this how you expected the game to play out?

That would be like liberals knee jerk defense of hillary and her private email server.

Statute of limitations.

So there was hush money. Once the victim takes money for their silence they are no longer a victim IMO.

Seual abuse of children is the go to career ruining accusation there days. Kind of like Communist after the WW.
The problem is that most child predators have profiles going back decades. So when, for example, a 60 year old troublesome congressman or activist is suddenly a child porn junkie I gt very skeptical

Rape has a statute of limitations?

Depends on the state, ranges from three to thirty years. Some states have no limitation.

Hastert urged life sentences for repeat child molestersDuring nearly 30 years as a state and federal lawmaker, Dennis Hastert presented himself as a champion of children ...
In Congress, Hastert supported the Child Abuse Prevention and Enforcement Act of 2000, which among other measures, sought to prevent and punish the sexual abuse of minors.
“... it is equally important to stop those predators before they strike, to put repeat child molesters into jail for the rest of their lives ..."

Now, prosecutors say Hastert sexually abused five students decades ago when he was a high school teacher and wrestling coach at Yorkville High School.

It's the hypocrisy and the fact that this guy was such a respected Rep and speaker of the house that makes this into a huge scandal.

There should be no statute of limitations on this sort of thing. Thank the Catholic church for lobbying against extending limitations for sexual abuse. Gee, I wonder why?

Justice may or may not be blind, but everyone deserves his day in court. Whether it's Cosby, OJ, this guy or your son. Our entire justice system depends on it.
