Conservatives to demand impeachment of IRS chief (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/conservatives-to-demand-impeachment-of-irs-chief/article/2588578)

After over a year of the IRS blocking Congress, conservatives may demand the impeachment of the IRS chief. The IRS has already had significant budget cuts over this scandal. Yet they still won't come clean.

Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus were expected Thursday to call for the impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who Republicans have criticized for failing to reform the embattled agency that admitted to slow-walking requests for tax-exempt status from conservative groups.

A spokesman for the Freedom Caucus said the group's chairman, Rep Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and several other members will come to the House floor Thursday evening to call on Republicans to begin impeachment proceedings against Koskinen, who has served as IRS commissioner since December 2013.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, introduced an impeachment resolution last fall but the House Judiciary Committee has not taken it up.

Just keep cutting their budget.

Cut their budget and cut their head off through impeachment. The head of the IRS is probably an "advise and consent" position. Refuse consent until we have an American (instead of an anti-American) president.

Another major story (the whole IRS thingy) that practically gets covered up by the MSM.

If I remember hasn't he actually perjured himself ??

Yes the high level political appointees are approved by the Senate. Even army officers MAJ and above are approved by the Senate. Although via a list of all to be promoted at a certain grade in each year.

We had promotion boards held up for a while when officers associated with various scandals were on the list. Abu Ghrab most notably. The Senate just doesn't vote on the list until the Army removes the names they disapprove of.

The MSM is too busy following the directions of the DNC to get around to reporting on some issues.

Agree on the field grade and above promotions.

Perjury is arguable; destruction of evidence is not. (http://www.thepcgraveyard.com/2015/10/27/game-on-house-to-impeach-irs-chief-koskinen-for-perjury/)

It's hard to figure out who is happier that the right wingers are so obsessed with the IRS, the thieves that don't pay their fair share, or the dipshits who follow elected representatives that do nothing but investigate investigate investigate. Do we not have a DOJ and if there is an issue should it not be investigated by them? And people wonder why nothing gets done. Trump is partially right, we have stupid people in government, but we have equally stupid people who put them there.

And in all of that, you tell us nothing about your views of this case.

Should Koskinen be impeached?

Are you claiming that a corrupt executive branch should investigate the corrupt executive branch?

We do have equally stupid people who put them there.
We have divided government for a reason. Congress oversees the faithful execution of the laws by the Executive branch. I am eagerly looking forward to having an American president once again.

Impeachment? Can't we just fire his ass? He's not an elected official . But better yet disband the IRS, burn it's control code and switch to a consumption tax with no loopholes except the tax doesn't start until you've spent x amount.

He is appointed by the President with the advise and consent of the Senate. Only the President can fire him. The Congress, however, can impeachh him.
