6% say that they trust the media (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_NEWS_MEDIA_TRUST?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-04-18-03-54-48)

6% say that they actually trust the media..., you don't say....

Well, that is probably because the media is wholly corrupt.

Trust in the news media is being eroded by perceptions of inaccuracy and bias, fueled in part by Americans' skepticism about what they read on social media.

Just 6 percent of people say they have a lot of confidence in the media, putting the news industry about equal to Congress and well below the public's view of other institutions. In this presidential campaign year,

Democrats were more likely to trust the news media than Republicans or independents.

But trust today also goes beyond the traditional journalistic principles of accuracy, balance and fairness.

What rock were these 6% living under? The real irony is that while the article points out a single digit approval rating for congress, those same people will turn around and elect the same politicians or their parties clone to another term, over and over again.
It's mind boggling and shows that the average American has no qualms about voting for people they don't trust and who's actions in office they do not approve of. What the hell can we do about that mentality ? There are other options people!
