Mitt Romney devoted an entire speech (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2016/03/03/romney-issues-blistering-attack-against-trump-n2128232) back in March to attacking Donald Trump in an effort to steer conservatives away from the businessman. Since then, he’s continued hammering the real estate mogul on one issue after another, including Trump’s tax returns. Romney said earlier this week that Trump's refusal to release them was “disqualifying.”

But some conservatives are tired of Romney’s continued attacks on Trump over this issue, especially now that he’s the GOP’s presumptive nominee. “I don’t know what’s wrong with Mitt Romney. It’s so strange,” American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp said on Fox News (https://grabien.com/story.php?id=55530&utm_source=cliplist20160513&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=cliplist&utm_content=story55530). “He as a candidate didn’t even release his taxes until Harry Reid took to the floor and claimed that maybe he didn’t pay any income taxes at all, and now all of a sudden Mitt Romney is chastising Donald Trump for not releasing his taxes.”

He continued: “A lot of us voted for him [Romney]. I voted for him, I held my nose, he wasn’t a conservative, and now he thinks he’s channeling conservatives in attacking Donald Trump over this. You know what I’d like Mitt Romney to do? Go home and be quiet, or, start focusing on Hillary Clinton. She’s our political opponent.”....snip~

Sour Grapes for the guy who amassed hundreds of millions buying healthy companies and shutting them down idling millions of workers permanently. I could care less what he has to say

Romney is just flirting with the idea of running as a third-party candidate.

When that doesn't get off the ground, he'll "reassess" his priorities and "unify" with Trump.

I believe that Mitt had made a deal with the GOP and at a contested convention he was going to be the white knight and ride in to save the day.

Just as I believe that Joe Biden is the same if Hillary is brought up on federal charges.

That is why Mitt got so nasty toward the end. He thought he was going to be President.

Dont be disappointed no one is aware of everything zelmo, I could post two dozen of these

How the GOP presidential candidate and his private equity firm staged an epic wealth grab, destroyed jobs – and stuck others with the billhttp://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/greed-and-debt-the-true-story-of-mitt-romney-and-bain-capital-20120829

At Bain Capital, Mitt Romney was a cold, ruthless destroyer of jobs and families. Does America need someone like that in the White House?http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/moneybox/2012/01/king_of_bain_was_mitt_romney_a_looter_or_a_corpora te_raider_.html

You know what I am tired of? Mainstream Conservatives handing campaign slogans to the DNC while tearing the party apart because their guy didn't appeal to the voters.

I don't like Romney as a politician (he is a lib), but his business didn't shut down businesses that could be saved. He saved a lot more than he shut down. And they would have shut down anyway.

Your idea is in good company. I've heard political analysts say almost the identical thing. Romney really thought he could waltz in and save the day. It's highly unlikely that he can, but I would not rule him out quite yet as a third-party candidate.

Actually the articles are quite good.

But the assumptions are wrong. Capital investment companies are in large part what I do with run down apartment complexes.

I go in salvage everything that I can and sell it. Most of the time I try and reduce the number of units by about 20% By either making larger units or actually tearing down buildings to add services. Then I invest the capital to completely redo the units into brand new condition.

This usually displaces the lower end renters that are less profitable. Moving them into the empty units of those that I take from other complexes that want Weight and training rooms. Coffee shops on side. Professional Kitchens and outdoor kitchens to have friends over. Indoor and outdoor pools.

The lower end renters fill those empties and that causes my competitors to have lower income and sometimes they end up in financial trouble as well. While I don't have as many renters my profit margins are higher and I have better renters.

It is actually making a difference in our small area as more middle and upper middle class move into the area displacing the poor and those on assistance programs.

This opens the opportunity to purchase those old large homes that every town has, Many that have been turned into Apartments.

This once again makes the existing units worth more and I can either turn them into very cool completely remodeled homes or I have one right now that we are going to make a really cool two story townhouse out of.

Now consider that this brings more money into the area for local shops and eateries. It is a win, Win and even that areas that are set up for low income now have more people living there. sure it is displacement of groups of people that that is business.

So the corporate raider who only paid 20% on most of his earnings wants to start talking tax return trash?

Thats a low blow.

romney was retired and paid the proper rate on capital gains in 2012.

so just blast him for being too soft to defeat a weak and incompetent president and dont overdo it.

That's not true either. Romney needs to clam it on this topic, but how you characterized his mergers and acquisitions career is not accurate.
