A federal judge in Texas Thursday ordered Justice Department attorneys to attend ethics classes as punishment for misleading the court about when President Obama's disputed executive actions on immigration.the Obama administration had begun shielding some illegal immigrants from deportation.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen, who issued an injunction blocking the executive actions as part of lawsuit filed by 26 states, said that more than 100,000 immigrants who qualified as parents of American born children were granted protective status even though government lawyers had told Hanen that the program had not yet begun.
"Clearly, there seems to be a lack of knowledge about or adherence to the duties of professional responsibility in the halls of the Justice Department,'' Hanen wrote in a 28-page order in which he sought to emphasize his demand for "honesty'' by quoting dialogue from the movie "Miracle on 34th Street.''
"The need to tell the truth, especially in court, was obvious to a fictional young Tommy Mara Jr., in 1947, yet there are certain attorneys in the Justice Department who apparently have not received that message or more likely have just decided they are above such trivial concepts,'' the judge stated.

The Judge told the attorneys not barred in Texas to never come into his court again. He doesn't have the power to disbar them. But I guarantee that the state bars for these attorneys will open cases on them and they will likely be suspended or disbarred. Attorneys lying in court to the judge is beyond the pale. Particularly so for DoJ attorneys.
