Based on what I've read of American history, I'm pretty sure that we have had far worse Presidents than Donald Trump, and we have somehow survived. Compare and contrast Trump with such luminaries at LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Harding, Jackson, Grant, and Buchanan among several others. And remember Bush's comment about being dictator?

My favorite is when does the child find out that he or she is not going to graduate? Usually just days before Graduation. Then they just drop out.

I remember well that as a kid I had to accept that I was not number one and that there are winners and losers in all things. When today's and even yesterdays kids grow up they don't understand why they aren't also President of the bank in which they are mere tellers. Failure teaches too. The idea that if you play you are equal with those who finished in first place because you got a pat on the back and an award is growth thwarting.

When my kid was a kid and I coached elementary level basketball which aimed to teach some fundamentals and have fun each kid got a trophy last game pizza celebration.

Little League, which I assistant coached, was more competitive, one year we took 1st, another 2nd, another 5th or well it didn't matter when we were that bad. I think we were too cheap to get the kids trophies.

In karate, which I just watched, he got a black belt like every other kid who stuck it out.

In skateboarding there were no trophies.

In my dojo the average black belt time was 13 years. One guy did it in 8 but he only worked part time. Our green belts won against other dojo black belts.
