Johnson should have known better than to play along with Samantha Bee's characterization of him.

He comes off looking unserious which is one of the biggest problems facing Libertarian candidates for political office.

Now, I personally know that he is serious guy when it comes to policy, but most people have no idea about who he is or what he believes and if this is their first taste of Gary Johnson, they are unlikely to come away thinking, "Now there's someone who I want to be President."

And I think Bee knew this going into it.

Despite what she may say or imply about herself, she is and always has been a Democrat partisan who will probably end up voting for Hillary Clinton in November.

That piece proves what I've suspected for some time, which is that Johnson clearly needs better campaign managers and advisers.

They need to promote a serious image of Johnson, not play into the goofy, lackadaisical Libertarian stereotype.

This is especially true when one considers how many serious intellectuals can be associated with libertarian ideology generally: John Locke, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, FA Hayek, Milton Friedman, etc.
