Mississippi: In nearly every metric associated with poverty, education, employment, health risk, and insurance coverage, Mississippi has been close to the bottom for years. The state is among the ten worst for both unemployment and health insurance coverage. It has the worst poverty rate in the U.S., and by far the lowest median income in the country, at just $36,850 -- not quite half of New Hampshire's median household income. The state was also hit hard by Katrina, including the Gulfport Harbor, which the Federal Government is allotting $500 million to help rebuild. Proponents of the project expect thousands of jobs will be created in the process.

Of course, they're voting for Gov. Romney. Despite what the liberals want, those folks don't want to stay poor their whole life. And, the ones in those states who are actually not paying income tax and are on the dole will probably be voting for President Obama.

How many major urban cities are in any of these states?

New Orleans, maybe a couple of minor urban cities in a few of the others but that's it.

Red statehood and poverty is synonymous. Romney and the conservatives want to give us all the blessing of Mississippi style poverty.

This may come as a surprise, but Obama has only been in office for around 3.5 years. Where they just fine before them. :)

Cigar, this makes sense. States Obama put into poverty are going to not vote for him. This is what the politicians YOU LOVE do when they're in power.

They may certainly be paying property tax. They buy gas and groceries. They're not happy with Obama.

I think Romney is gonna win.

Like the red states of New York, California, and Michigan? Are these the red states you're talking about??
Because all the cities and states run by Democrat majorities for decades are doing so wonderfully, right Joaquin?

President Obama and the liberals love poor people so much that want to make all Americans poor. That would not include the ruling elite, of course. But, we do have the poverty tour you can go on Joaquin. It starts in Detroit, goes to Southside Chicago--you get a kevlar vest--then on the East St. Louis an travels across country ending in the various bankrupt cities in California. We can't specify which California cities because we keep getting more.
