Mitt Romney's 47 Percenters: College Students Resent Criticism They Are 'Dependent Upon Government'

ecent video released by Mother Jones shows Romney claiming 47 percent of Americans are supporters of President Obama because they are people "who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them." Romney went on to state he could never get that 47 percent to "take personal responsibility and care for their lives." Turns out college students didn't like being called victims (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/19/mitt-romney-college-students_n_1895252.html)! Well, why don't those students just borrow $1M from their parents, like Mitt did!

Know what? Cap'n Jones and i saved money, had cash building insurance policies so our kids wouldn't have to borrow money for college. And we had three kids. AND THEY didn't borrow money from the gov't to go to school. WE PAID FOR IT OURSELVES. Might i suggest you guys do the same for your kids.

Cap'n Jones and I...being kids with no dads...they died young, borrowed money for college. I borrowed a little from the gov't and some from my bank which they expected me to pay back when i graduated. WHICH I DID. Matter of fact, being single, i was able to pay back my student loan before i was married. In total.

I was a BIG STINKIN' Lib in college and then shortly thereafter....UNTIL i started bringing home my own paycheck. AND i began to notice about 10 or so years later that i was being manipulated by the media. I don't like being done like that so it really ticked me off. I guess that is what is so frustrating to me about some of you guys. You STILL don't see how you're being used and you're still spounting the same old liberal media nonsense.

Many younger people realize that the Baby Boomers have left them with unsustainable levels of debt. And they resent them over it. The question is whether they are going to try to fix the debt, or raid the treasury and wait for the collapse.

Actually that was a good story Romney told about encouraging young people to "take a shot" and "take a risk" and borrow money from parents "if you have to" to "start a business."
